And while you keep repeating that you never said that he surely defected, you are turning over every stone and twisting every event to try to fit into a story of how he possibly did defect. So in that sense, your continuous denials of commitment are betrayed by your fanciful spinning, as an unbiased and uninvested person would see the evidence and be satisfied with the overwhelmingly more obvious conclusion that the rumor was false.
