Nah asian debuff is just an excuse by koreans to make themselves feel better.

The Korean submarine wasn't even designed for Arctic operations. Which is kinda important for Canada.

Also their marketing was wack, they were marketing on youtube and on billboards on Ottowa.
It might work for third world countries, but to people in developed countries it feels gross.
It just shows their desperation and how little confidence they actually had in their actual submarine.

Their quality and performance is also highly suspect after the experiences of Indonesia.
Comparitively TKMS is used by countries around the world with countless repeat customers.
South Korea also had a submarine fire recently which killed a woman.

In my opinion, Korea needed to underbid Germany by at least 50% to have a real chance.
But they got greedy. Everyone knows Korean shipbuilding costs are much cheaper than europe; if you don't pass it on, it is obvious Hanwha is pocketing it, and that leaves a really bad taste in the mouth.

Also their industrial offset was also not really genuine, and Canada has bad experiences with Korean automakers.
Germany's Industrial offsets on the other hand are much more synergistic with the Canadian economy and just much more well thought out and sustainable.

Everyone says delivery timeline, but really, after Norway and Germany gave up their slots on the slipway Korea was cooked and had no advantage.

Korea's "Delivery advantage" is just the result of noone wanting their submarines, and having an empty orderbook. Meanwhile Germany's "Shipbuilding Disadvantage" is just due to the fact that they make the best conventional submarines on the planet and are suffering from success. They are addressing this by the way, by expanding their shipyards so even this will be addressed.

The winners of this are Canadians; their politicians saw through the marketing and chose the better submarine. They also handily used the Koreans masterfully to extract maximum economic benefits and early deliveries from TKMS. Honestly the best negotiations for an arms deal I have ever seen, even better than Finland's F-35 deal. Carney's skills at work I guess.
Germany will be sent to 18th century before it was exposed to modern Science from Russian empire. May be you dont follow and understand the news that is posted here.
it is WSJ headline that German industry will be devasted by China. and Germany may not have access to its foreign assets at time of need due to poor investments in countries like France, Italy and US.
You think Germany can make best conventional submarine? what is submarine for. its quietness and endurance with high automation (Software) to make sure crews dont take much area and than missile and communication tech. in every of the 21st tech fields Germany is now at the bottom. Just look at past several decades of Math Olympiads. German was always behind Japan in Science after its defeat in wars. It is based on Royal Kingdoms.
Now that title of Land of Rising Sun was handed over or Russian earn it. I posted several times. Royals understand why this title was with Japan.

Putin strips Japan of its title

Not even the same design; the Type 214 is a downgraded export version which has cutting edge tech omitted.

Buying TKMS is like buying an E-class from Mercedes directly.
Buying Hanwha is like buying a copy of an A-class from a roadside mechanic with an extra row of seats and a rocket launcher.
South Korean got UAE nuclear reactors. They got the SAMS that are the best what is available for export. and you think they cannot defeat Germany in subs which is tech of previous era. Korea is spending $1T in AI and Robotics. Korea has big advantage over Germany. Korea big student population studied in US and US universities always had higher ranking than Germany. and there is additional science available to Korea due to nature of products it makes.

Updates and overhauls to the procedures and methods of handling ammonium nitrate events are definitely required.

This was caused by a car crash.
The ludicrous claimed number of deaths was wilful misinterpretation of statistics and deliberate state propaganda.

It originated when China finally started doing censuses again after things have calmed down and stabilised, and the actual population was millions fewer than the expected population.

As a percentage of total population, the difference was massive, like 6-12% of total population massive, and should have been the first glaring warning sign that something was massively wrong with the numbers somewhere. The expected population was based on growth models that could not be updated properly for over a decade due to all the political instability and based on sample data reported by the provinces. So we are to believe all statistics in China was massively inflated during the Great Leap Forward except for population growth.

Rather than do any semblance of actual scientific or statistical analysis on the myriad of possible and indeed probable explanations, it was all immediately classified as famine deaths and seriously never questioned by anyone in the west.
Yeah, the truth is the famine was basically just the pre-revolution norm death rates, and they count all the deaths as famine deaths even though at that time natural deaths would still be high, also the 3 years of the great famine had a lower death rate than that of India on average and only exceeded India in 1961. And China's death rate improved drastically, and India only caught up to Chinese post-famine 1960s death rate in the 2000s.

Pretty sure they counted the missing births as deaths.
