It's funny that this heat wave may have delayed the trade war.
Can't wage trade war on China in summer - too hot
Can't wage actual war on Russia in winter - too cold
Can't actually try to conquer China - never, good luck getting into the mountains.

The 8 nations alliance can only really go on the coastal China. If they get more inland they're pretty much fucked.

German federal prosecutors have charged a former Ukrainian army officer with being the co-perpetrator of a war crime over the 2022 Nord Stream gas pipeline blasts, ‌accusing him of acting on behalf of Ukrainian state entities.
Prosecutors said on Thursday they had filed charges against Serhii K. - identified under German privacy rules only by his first name and initial - before a regional court in Hamburg.

Estonian presidential adviser Madis Roll, during a conversation with Russian pranksters Vovan and Lexus, revealed that Tallinn is prepared to support the Ukrainian armed forces in conducting attacks on St. Petersburg. The pranksters, operating on their Telegram channel, said they have spoken with the Estonian politician on behalf of Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC).

In the dialogue, Roll expressed a willingness to assist if coordination challenges arose. "I hope that if any issues with coordination emerge, I can help. Please let me know. I am confident that our defense ministers are in contact on this matter and are actively working towards this goal," he stated when the conversation shifted to potential Ukrainian targets in St. Petersburg.

Additionally, Roll clarified Estonia's stance regarding drone incidents that have fallen on Estonian territory, emphasizing that Tallinn does not blame Ukraine. "We do not hold Ukraine responsible; we say the blame lies with Russia for this ongoing conflict. If Russia had not attacked Ukraine, such incidents in neighboring countries would not occur," he asserted.

Let's not go too far in the other direction glazing Mao. Dude was a great military leader and legendary political revolutionary which is a lot. But he didn't have incredible precognitive psychic powers like the God-Emperor, couldn't turn an devastated illiterate starving agrarian country into an sophisticated wealthy liberal European wakanda over lunch and he wasn't immune to the Peter Principle. He fucked up, because that's what happens when you try to do things. Nation building is an iterative process that takes generations. Mao demolished the old house, laid the new foundations which the new house is built upon.

70/30 is reasonable.
This is usually the case with first generation revolutionary leaders, they are brilliant at capturing power but they are not good at the boring task of administering a country on a day to day basis. Lenin was the same way; excellent at organizing like minds and grabbing the reins of power but was a lousy statesman. I think they have a different type of temperament that doesn't suit governing a state which requires a pragmatic and gradualist approach to policymaking rather than the constant grandiose idealism.

CN military X account comments on news of alleged use of discarded aircon to extract RE in JP.
...

CN RUS 2026 joint naval military exercise in Qingdao launched.
There are zillions of ways for Japan to smuggle rare earth for its military from 3rd countries.

If China wanted to "stop japan's military expansion", using RE is not the way. They would have done military blockade and start bombing military factories.

RE ban is a pressure tactic. Just make it harder for Japan to get RE but nit impossible

Japan MOD and their usual "How dare the Chicoms only inform us about 1.5 hours prior" and "How dare the Chicoms' missile overfly us!" rantings.

"The SeeSeePee's missile flew over Japan (and Japan's EEZ south of Kagoshima (?))! This is a declaration of war!"
"Why don't we fire 50 missiles back at them?"
"Why don't we just intercept the missile?"
"Why don't we just use the railgun to take it down?"
"It's all the Left's fault!"
"We must fire an ICBM(?) in response, right now!"
"Japan should protest strongly and enact sanctions! Otherwise the SeeSeePee will never stop!"
"Japan should deorbit all the old satellites towards Bohai!"
"We must amend the constitution!"
"It's time for Japan to develop ICBMs and nuclear warheads!"

You know, I do know of a very simple and surefire way so that any future full-range ICBM tests by China will never cause any trouble for Japan ever again: Japan just needs to hand over all of the Liuqiu/Ryukyu Islands to China! Easy!
