It's just a fact of life. Nobody has any right to lecture the Supapowar Vishwaguru about what it needs to improve. Especially not a foreigner. If anything, it is the Vishwaguru who lectures you.

Industrial policy is for losers. What truly matters is the power of talk. The Vishaguru is a world-class Supapowar, while China is still a developing nation. This is the mantra that makes a winning Supapowar. Repeat and shout it out loud for success.

1. Estimates of reconstruction ballooned from $1.9B to between $4.3B to $5.2B
2. Won't be expected to open until late 2030 (6+ years after the collapse)
3. Baltimore hired a firm called Kiewit to rebuild the bridge back in 2024 but dumped them last month because of disagreements over cost.
4. The ship crashed into the bridge because it lost power. The operator of the ship was a India/Singaporean company. guy in charge of the ship's maintenance was an Indian national and he is being charged.

A microcosm of US decline and eventual collapse indeed.

For a start, I am just voicing my personal opinions on an independent forum, which can never trigger bilateral conflicts. Personal rapport between leaders such as Trump, Putin and President Xi can never represent national diplomatic relations. Such logic is extremely naive and immature.

As a matter of fact, China has never officially recognized Russia as an ally, and Russia will not foolishly keep consuming itself against NATO endlessly. No matter how blindly you fawn on Russia, Russians will never truly respect China. They export resources to China merely out of mutual needs and practical interests, and this fundamental fact will never change. What is more, Russia still occupies Chinese ancestral land up to now, and this historical regret can never be eliminated. Anyone who ignores national history and territorial dignity acts as "han jian", betraying the land and interests of the whole country.

Even if the war stops now, Russia will still be locked in a competition with NATO and Europe for years afterwards. And Europe is many times larger in terms of population and productive capacity, and is rearming.

Russia will struggle to match this, so it will be consumed with this competition.

And if China is wealthier and more technologically advanced than the USA or Europe, then Russia should respect that.

China has been talking about retaliation for a long time, but I don’t understand why there is so little reciprocity in response to hostile actions. When responses do occur, they seem sporadic and delayed. Meanwhile, the opposing side continues to act aggressively without facing consequences.

Yes, Beijing indeed has indeed TACOed (XACO) toward the EU when it comes to trade, especially in EVs and after French authorities harassed TEMU shipments. Beijing’s retaliation were symbolic and did little to hobble EU’s export to China.
