Sadly it wasn't a marketing campaign or PR stunt; more companies are following this trend.

The actual process won't simply "stop printing in CMYK color", it would consist of re-procurement of new non-painting paper/bags; test the material in the lab and prove no harmful pollutants; and in the case of potato chips, the main procedure would be redesign the package, evaluate the grey scale and make a new pre-press. I have personal experience on this matter; the monochrome pre-press size of a bag of chips would cost several million yen per print line.


Edit: apparently we are in a shortage of garbage bag now.

So what is the point on sending a failure like him to China, if he is supposed to project strength, then all he is projecting as an image is a childish racist mass murderer that simply is oblivious to the fact that his actions is tanking the USA on the world stage that is literally driving allies away and demoralising his troops at a time that he shouldn't be doing that. China simply couldn't have asked for a better Manchurian agent who somehow managed to self brainwash himself for the role. A surprisingly useful liability given that everyone knows his a worthless fop but they can't get rid of him because everyone around him is a self defeating beta.

You ask why we tolerate it. Which means that we shouldn't tolerate it. How do you not tolerate it? You stop it. So you were either too stupid to realize that sanctions won't stop Israel (in which case you'd have to tolerate it nonetheless) or you were implying that in order to "not tolerate it," you would escalate to military intervention.

So which is it: benevolence and mercy or Chinese interests first and foremost? Why does China owe nothing to Palestine while China should show mercy to the Philippines? Why does the Philippines, who is solidly in the American camp, deserve any sort of relief while they are actively contributing to the containment of China?

I'm trying the square the inconsistent foreign policy here. If we follow the logical conclusion of the argument we had before, Chinese blood and treasure will not be used to bail out its adversaries. The Philippines should be left to suffer the consequences of aligning with the US.

It's gets confusing because I thought they already did this. Huawei is making more money now than when they did sell to the West. All it's going to do is make everything in the US cost more. Their bans do nothing. All they can do is follow where in the world China goes to build other countries infrastructure and hope they can make money there. Just like the West now uses Chinese built transportation infrastructure in Africa to hope to get access to those markets when before the didn't bother because the West wasn't going to build it. What does it say when before they claim to have already done this ban and now they're only getting to it. Which also tells you this is just to create false leverage before Trump goes to China.

Propaganda for the American right as 2026 is a midterm election year. They send Pete "Whiskey Leaks" Hegseth to China, he does nothing, then in a few months they publish a bunch of nonsense of how he "went into enemy territory and learned their secrets".

It is worth understanding that none of the American right gives a damn about the Atlantic anymore. That's why they protested supporting Israel and attacking Iran, despite Christian Nationalist having the opportunity to mass genocide Muslims. Across the entire American political spectrum they believe China is hell on earth and Xi Jinping is Satan incarnate. Their hatred isn't even rooted in anything, but a drug to fuel their addiction to hate in and of itself. Trump is also a chicken hawk who picks fights then shrinks when someone tells him off, which is exactly why you haven't heard him say a peep about China since after losing his own Trade War. Bringing the "Secretary of War" allows Trump to claim "me stronk" and less of a coward, fueling his own ego and potentially giving enough hate-drug to the public for the midterms.

If one absolutely wants to be generous, Hegseth is good at talking, literally. In every public presentation I've watched of him, his Fox News presentor experience is very obvious: articulates every word clearly, speaks at a slow but consistent pace, and sticks to his talking points. That might sound silly to us, but to an interpretor he's a unicorn. But that assumes Trump gives a damn about the interpretors, and I'd sooner believe he's secretly hates Diet Coke before I beilive he cares about anyone but himself.

I always found this kinda of thinking funny, because all that it says is western culture consider children to be disposable tools that they'd be happy to send away to die if they have multiple, i.e. western culture is like insects.
