That’s pretty arrogant to say. If they had that power, why couldn’t they stop China? It’s because they needed China whether they liked it or not. How many US companies would not be around today without China? Apple certainly wouldn’t be the same behemoth. Apple exploded as a company because they exploited the costs advantage of doing business with China. The US wouldn’t be at $29 trillion without China. They were at something around $12 trillion at the year 2000 when China started in the game. Look at all that money they made while people like Trump said the US was being robbed during that time. They act like everything would be the same or more without China. How about all that talk about India being the West’s alternative to China? What does that mean? It means they needed a China that they could control to exploit and make new unicorn companies like Apple was for the times. But if they were in control, they could’ve stopped China.
The real question is can India ever be the “new” China? It’s the same dilemma China’s neighbors have on how can they ever get out of China’s shadow. The only way they have a chance of escaping China’s shadow is by doing something they would never do and that’s going against the US. That’s the trick why China is barreling ahead because China isn’t obeying the West in their attempts to control China. India is about being up there with the West not beating the West. China thinks beyond the West.
The fact is the West has been holding everyone back with their need for regulating everything. That’s what the world is going to realize. Look at how China is exploding with innovation. Look at how Europe thinks it can regulate AI when they have no skin in the game with their own competing AI. They hide behind they’re thinking what’s best for all but it’s really about what’s best for themselves and making sure they’re still in control. That’s the kind of mindset they want for everyone else. China’s neighbors can’t get out of China’s shadow when they follow along the West’s thinking that was about restricting China. They have no chance.
