President Trump pushed U.S. oil companies to commit to invest $100 billion in Venezuela at a White House meeting, the CEO of ExxonMobil warned the company is far from enlisting and said that Venezuela is “uninvestable.”

Imagine if oil companies were dumb enough to invest $100 billion in Venezuela oil fields. Then decades from now, after another socialist revolution and those oil fields are again nationalized people would be making TV shows where there's a scene in which Delcy Rodriguez is in tears begging Maduro not to go through with his cunning plan and Maduro goes "one old man for $100 billion for my country, that's a good trade."

I don't believe that at all.

It is all propaganda to me. Making it sound like Chinese can only be "Westernized" and cannot be ourselves.

Deng Xiaoping studied and actually worked in France. Is he Westernized?

Zhou Enlai studied aboard including in Europe. Is he Westernized?

I think that term is rather contemptuous.

There are sellouts. But to use the term Westernized randomly and continuously, is like saying everyone is a sellout.

Er, no.

No thanks.
I mean hu jintao was more pro western than Xi right now and I think the ccp at that time was more pro western than now because of leadership.

Rather than saying the fall of the Iranian government is merely a matter of time, it would be more accurate to state that the continued existence of this incompetent and inept administration would be a greater mistake. I am more interested in the new government that will emerge after Iran's collapse. Will Iran form a pro-American government that bends over backwards to please Trump, much like the European Union? Or will it be another new government attempting to walk a tightrope between China, the United States, and Russia?

You can’t spell Canuck without the letters C U CK.

Why is a wedge between Canada and a country that openly threatens to annex it, by military force if necessary, a bad thing? That’s as big of a national security concern as it can get. At least the Eurocucks in Denmark added the Enclave wannabes in Washington to their list threat list…
