The other major issue is water. It takes huge amount of water to make ethanol from corn.

you mean Saudis. They dont care much about India. infact it is them that force India to buy Russia oil.
Saudis are getting diversified. They have mining and natural climate has improved. There is snow and rain and Red Sea resorts much better than UAE. Remember Saudis as people got richer several decades earlier and they far closer to American system than UAE. Saudi human capital and indigenous population can grow much faster once new cities are built in better climate regions. Only thing left is that new Saudi airline. Saudi-France teaming up on Palestine issue has made Germany isolated and France demanding commanding position on 6G fighter. The point i am making these Gulf Royals will send Europe and Africa in such a direction that it will be less helpful to India. It is far easier to establish permanent Royal dominance over India when India is non-Aligned. Arabs can buy Rafale fighters but it does not mean India should follow them.

I know this is a little late to commemorate 9/18. But a must-watch for all Chinese. It explains a lot what happened then led to what it is today.
