Though not directly admit any details of the deal, but it does mean a deal is made & will take effect. So any idea about what the deal will be like?
It's amazing how people struggle with this concept, both ByteDance and Beijing has emphasized over and over again Chinese law will be obeyed, and Chinese law prohibit export of algorithm, i.e prohibit transfer of root content control.

So the only possible deal US can negotiate, and the deal they have already described, is basically a franchise model where US forms a local store, license the brand and algorithm use right from the franchisor ByteDance, and in turn give the franchisor a portion (in this case 20%) of the profit of the local store. The franchisor (China) decide what's on the menu and provides the food themselves, i.e. content curation , but the store now gain the ability to ban customers from entering, i.e. censor content Israel doesn't like.

This is a very explicit TACO move, because China's ability to control American domestic discourse and shape public oponion through TikTok's black-box algorithim, has always been the crux of the entire issue and the real "national security risk". Algorithm control is control of TikTok, everything else is superficial, Beijing banned algorithm export on day 1 precisely because of this, all US could have ever done was either ban it or accept it, and they've accepted it.

China's rise causes after effects in unexpected ways. China hasn't even done anything against South Korea recently when it comes to geopolitics. But they start hating China to these extreme levels just cause they see and hear China's rise in the news?
To be fair China is systemically annihilating Korean industry one by one just by offering superior products and technology.
Of course the root issue is a tiny country like Korea should have cooperated and sought out a niche within China's supply chain, rather than go hostile and compete at a national level with vastly larger country to begin with, but once down that path defeat and resentment is inevitable.

Trump has already spoken about bringing IT helpdesk back to the US. Indians really have to be one deaf to think he can't simply impose a huge tax penalty on companies that outsource to India.
Well Trump has shown himself to amenable to bribery which is also commonplace in India. So I can see the likes of Sundar Pichar and Satya Nadella ask for special exemptions like Tim Cook did with Apple.

I agree. It's hopeless for S. Korea to compete on similar basis to China merely by the size of its population. Even if hypothetically, on a per capita basis they are superior academically, professional and industrially, each S. Korea would need be 27 times better to equal China's output. It's their ego and the obsession with status that is blinding them to simple math. The competition will grind their already dwindling population into dust by cramming more working hours and higher strain upon already aging and dejected population.
