Next step is going to be drone striking all small boats off Venezuela until they kill random fishermen.

I surprised there's even discomfort or pushback about arbitrarily executing 'drug smugglers' from the usual suspects.
I think it's only because there's video of it so it's harder to ignore.
I think that people consider surprising the use of military assets to deal with police-coast guard manners. I remember in 2011 China considered a drone strike against a drug warlord who killed 13 Chinese sailors but they decided against it and decided to do it the hard way. And that was the Chinese police in collaboration with Myanmar, no the Chinese military. That could had been the first drone strike against a drug dealer.

Platinum grade cope. The folks in the comments are down to the level of claiming that US will win due to "cultural superiority", whatever that means.
He sounds weak. He's using the same kind of language Iran used when under attack by Israel: defiance in the face of a superior enemy. Also, are American officers addicted to the word "deterrence"? It's something that supposed to be what you do to someone who's misbehaving. If you're using it to refer to yourself, it suggests that you think that you're the one misbehaving.

The EU is committing industrial suicide by forgoing affordable Russian energy and choosing much more expensive LNG and oil from the US, just to demonstrate that they are America's real minions. Now Russian signed the binding agreement for the Power of Siberia 2 with China and Mongolia, EU will fall farther behind in their economic competition with China.

Israel is committing a genocide in Gaza. A record number of journalists has been killed by Israel. Yet the ICJI has the audacity to criticize China?

Myth number 1:

Myth number 2:

Why the industry of renewable energy has no future in the US under the Trump regime:
A lot of the biggest investment funds in China are actually government related like the Big Fund.

They don't need to ask Blackrock to save them. The government do it themselves and set up an investment fund to invest in crucial industries. And despite what westoids think, these funds are run with a free market approach which means they will only invest in stuff that can stand on its own in the free market. There's no point investing in some crappy semiconductor startup simply coz the guy's dad is a senior official in the CPC. They need to pick real winners using harsh but objective measures. Every time they make bad investments that's just a lot of time and money wasted that could of being used to fund real stuff instead. There are several known cases of this.

What you are seeing today are years of investments beforehand. Seeing how countries in the west or India act shows they don't get it with China. The time to invest and do the work was decades ago. Not just now after it becomes news.

How are they in the SCO??? Sneaky bastards.
The Telegraph's headline is lying. Vietnam and Philippines were building up islands in the South China Sea before China did. In fact, China's building was a response to their actions. I think that China and Vietnam cut a deal regarding these islands so neither will raise much of a stink against the other. It feels like the Telegraph timed this article as counter programming to the big 9-3 parade.

Well, I don't see any packages of cocaine there, and somehow it doesn't occur to me that they would sail all the way to the US on this boat. It would be funny, if unfortunately 11 people hadn't died. And did the entire US fleet set sail because of this? Did they find any narcotics?
They wouldn't be able to find any, even if there was. Considering whatever was on that boat has been atomized.

Hollywood has been depicting US military doing their stuff in all kinds of civilian settings. It's part of the psyop - people watch such movies, go home, turn on CNN or whatnot, see US military in action, and subconsciously think "yup, those are the good guys, I just watched them save the planet from aliens / monsters / brown-skin terrorists."

I remember an opening scene in one of the Transformers movies was US military _in Shanghai_ hunting the aliens. US military, in Shanghai, blowing up stuff, in the name of saving the planet. Like WTF?

At least Japanese superheroes only save Japan, and Indian superheroes only save India. China and all Global South countries should prohibit such filming by Hollywood in their countries.

I don't think its wrong to say free-market capitalism is a prerequisite for innovation.
Chinese companies are in-fact innovative because of free market capitalist competition.

What people get wrong is the assumption that the west has free market capitalism: capitalism is an unstable system that inevitably degenerate back to feudalism: with monopolies, rent seeking and price fixing, as those are the explicit goal of all capital. The only way for stable free market capitalism to actually exist is with a socialist government that enforces separation of capital and state, enforces market regulations and enforces competition.

The west can't innovate anymore precisely because they have degenerated from free market capitalism back to feudalism, where the west spent most of the last 2000 years and where they will spend the next 2000 years.
