Uh, they were already well known. How much mineral development was there in the 20+ years the US was there? Please stop saying "Africa". It's a continent with 54 different countries, each of them with their own unique dynamics. It's like me lumping the whole of Asia into one based on the behavior of Cambodia or somthing.
There's nothing "true" about what he's saying. I will never understand this need to lump an entire continent into one. Is it that folks don't understand that Africa, like every other continent, has sovereign countries within it? Please this documentary is from the Congo, even among folks from the continent it's seen as a hopeless place.
