Playing cat and mouse game with the Philippines is such a waste of resources. If this was the US, they would have sunk a few PH ships to make a point. Sadly China is too timid to do such things. That's why Philippines is so bold.

They are like Ukraine, they have unlimited resources from the west. PH is getting direct dollar funding and also ships are being donated to them in rapid fashion. Moreover, I don't think they even care about resource wastage at this point. They are pretty much hell bent on provoking China until they get even more help from US and others.
Whether or not phillipines can sustain this sort of operations is not the main issue here. This is embarrassing and just plain bad optics for the professionalism of the CCG and the PLAN( more for the former). It's essentially a Pinoy PR victory online.

Are you sure? if it's true then we will be flying a brand new F16 block 70 patrolling the area instead of F50 trainers that lack the range.
A bigger frigate, fully armed that can give the Chinese Type 54a frigate a run for their money instead they gave us a shell of a frigate from SK that had NO capability to match the type 56a corvette.
