A break from tariff news. Chinese ally DR Congo was being invaded by Rwanda, backed by the U.S. Protesters burned American flags at the American embassy in Kinshasa. A perfect opportunity for China to step in, support DR Congo, and show the rewards of being a Chinese ally. China did nothing, and pissed off the Congolese. Now they're moving towards a deal with the U.S....

your speech is very enthusiastic, but is evident that you know few Chinese companies, It is a reality that competition is fierce and margins are horribly low.
The margins are low when selling domestically, they're not low when exporting, Chinese cars are a prime example, but it's not just cars.
Its simple market competition: Chinese companies have domestic competitors, but international competitors are so expensive they can run high margin and still be competitive.

Every supply chain on earth pass through China, including American defence contractors mind you, China can literally shut down every wannabe manufacturing power with export control on countless little known critical path items, the only reason China doesn't do that and Chinese companies don't run high margin is because China have bigger fish to fry than rent seek.

But if you think non-industrial nations has any leverage over a country that owns more than half of planetary industry, you need to look at what happened to Walmart after trying to negotiate just a 10% price reduction from their Chinese suppliers.

That's not a problem considering how US elites view their masses. In fact, animal feed is probably healthier than what they feed their students nowadays. You don't want to sell unhealthy animals to your customers after all!

Reagan 's speech implied foreign countries which didn't have hundreds of missiles aimed at American cities. So, posting it misleads viewers as if free trade is irreplaceable and rejecting it is always economically wrong. Actually, Americans have paid ,at least, for some nuclear missiles that the Chinese have aimed at the American cities. And Americans on the both sides of the isle have realized it, and don't want it to continue...

Yeah sure, let's see how it turns out then.
China isn't a colonial power and Congo isn't China's subject, they can sell their minerals to whoever, but you should look up Argentinian president Milei's attitude to China before and after election to see the difference between actual economic dominance and small time coercion.
