Cruise missiles are much easier to intercept than ballistic missiles based on data from Ukraine, by both western and Russian systems.

There is no advantage to a supersonic cruise missile in land attack, as it is neither flying too fast and high to be shot down by a regular AAM or SAM, nor is it flying low enough to slip under the radar horizon. It is worse than using Cold War era SCUDs. There's a reason US and Russians both gave up development of supersonic cruise missiles early in the Cold War.
subsonic cruise missiles are easy to intercept because the moment engine light up of a bomber it is already known the window of time when they will arrive. and these Nato Planes fly around Black Sea they can observe missile launches from ships/subs. but this truck mounted Onyx is a surprize. Ukranian think its hypersonic.
Supersonic cruise missiles are more compact than ballistic. so much easy to transport and store in larger quantities in hardened structures. I also have doubt Ballistic missiles are safe to launch near residential structures.
64 Onyx missile fired around Odessa as of Sept 2023 and not single known intercept even siren after explosion and the most destructive.

Supersonic and complex trajectory. The main thing about the Onyx missiles and why they cannot be shot down

Is it possible to shoot down this missile?

There are two serious problems that defenders of the Ukrainian skies face in countering the Onyx missiles:
  • These missiles are hypersonic, so air defense forces have critically little time to detect and destroy them;
  • Detection is further complicated by the fact that this missile flies at low altitude.

The ROCAF has around ~400 combat aircraft, of which ~200 are the F-16V standard uprades & newbuilds. This is almost comparable to the PLAAF's entire J-10C fleet in terms of both quantity and capability. In addition to that, the rest of their fleet are comprised of the F-CK-1 and Mirage 2000, both of which are of the 4th generation and likely more capable than any of Iran's fighters.
Curious as to why you chose the comparison of the J-10C to the F-16V? That is the 3rd tier fighter of the PLAAF. Those F-16Vs are the top tier of the ROCAF. They are going against the J-20 (at worst, for them, but these might be held back to face off against the US) or J-11/J-16.

Frank Dikötter is a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution who has recently returned to the United States after living in Hong Kong since 2006. In this provocative conversation, Dikötter challenges the prevailing narrative about China’s rise. Drawing from his latest book, China After Mao: The Rise of a Superpower, Dikötter argues that the Chinese Communist Party has masterfully projected the image of a powerful, modern, and economically dominant nation—but says that image is largely a façade.

TL;DW:

Frank Dikötter argues that China’s rise is deeply misunderstood: it's not a miracle of Communist Party planning but the result of ordinary Chinese villagers reclaiming economic freedom despite the Party. The CPC, still staunchly Marxist-Leninist, rules through fear, propaganda, and repression—especially of its own people. Economic growth has been overstated and heavily reliant on overproduction, WTO-enabled exports, and state control of key industries. Xi Jinping is no reformer but a paranoid authoritarian benefiting from past gains. China, he claims, is not a superpower but a fragile empire built on illusion, fear, and internal weakness. The West was naïve to believe engagement would liberalize China; instead, Dikötter recommends Cold War-style containment and patience—letting the regime rot from within.

Personal Opinion:

Listening to these neofascists/neo-imperialists makes me realize that these "fine" people and their apparatus have truly become adversaries of not only China and Russia but also the rest of free and sovereign countries and humanity as a whole. Who gave these Anglo-supremacists the right to rule over the rest of humanity ?

The amount of projection is off the charts. These far-right Neo-imperialist are desperate their dictatorship over the world will fall.

I fear that these lunatics, ghouls and liars in their desperation and fear might do something even more stupid (i.e. fanatic/fundamentalist) and plunge the world into another major conflict.

US and US vassal state interference in Hong Kong is ignored by neocon propagandists and painted as "delusion" by Dikötter and the other neocon regime bot:

Peter Robinson: "... But the notion that the United States was behind the democracy movement in Hong Kong or

that somehow or other it was capitalists who organized the events in Tiananman Square in 1989. That is delusional..."

Frank Dikötter: "...Yes and you know what it's called."

Peter Robinson: ".. So how do we deal with these people if they're delusional?"

Frank Dikötter: "It's very difficult... be very patient I would say peaceful evolution..."

Serious Question: How does China, Russia and the other free and sovereign nations plan to deal with these lying lunatics such as these ?

(Good Lord these people are insane/totally delusional and their projection is totally off the charts. Unreal!)

Their projection is literal projection of their own problems and insecurities onto a geopolitical rival.

The term "Superpower" was created by Elitists Think Tanks Western Stooges Clowns <pretty much like Mr. Frank here> that see themselves above the rest of the world, China never claimed to be a "Superpower", they have always claimed to be a "nation among nations", the power projection of China is mainly to their core interests, like their territorial integrity, what China did was to invest in their country, in infrastructure, mobility, science, industry, education and technological research instead of 1000+ military bases, parasitic military alliances and the modern impossibility of nation building. And now many Western clowns stooges are surprised that the investment payoff. "OMG China is dominating EVs", of course, while US was throwing trillions in pointless wars and Europa was been slow as snail, China was investing in heavily in clean energy and new energy vehicles. These Think Tanks clowns stooges cannot gaslight people anymore with their crap.

But how can one be this delusional and pretend the US and its vassal states were not involved in the protests in Hong Kong when images showed their embassy goons literally with clipboards in hand meeting with protest "leaders" ??? This is the same shameless behavior they displayed with the 2014 US coup in Ukraine. It was "the people" that chose their government and anyone that says anything to the contrary is a propagandist. It totally ignores that Neocon goons like Victoria Nuland picked the successor government and installed dual US citizens in various "Ukrainian" government institutions. This blatant violation of sovereignty and international law by these "fine ladies and gentlemen" and then the nerve of regime propagandists and apparatchiks to just ignore these events is just disgusting.

The abhorrent believe by these neocons/neolibs/transatlanticists/western-dupremacists in their superiority over the rest of humanity is appalling. Just listen to these "clowns" at the far-right Hoover Institute.
