Just having fun and maybe check out their content if you enjoy travel/powerlifting stuff.

So in addition to furthering your interest in the People's Liberation Army, are you participating in this forum to improve your English and better your understanding of "Westerners" so you may realize greater success in befriending female comrades of the expat variety?

Spoken like a man coming from experience. A true Confucius of our time!!

You're too kind, good sir! The only thing I really know is that I know nothing . . . :)

Li Ka-shing’s Hutchison gets another Beijing warning over Panama ports sale

Beijing’s top offices for Hong Kong affairs have for the third time signalled their wrath at CK Hutchison over its Panama ports deal by reposting a critical newspaper article which warned businesses that disregard national interests will eventually “destroy their own foundations”.

The Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office and the central government’s liaison office in the city on Wednesday published the article by government-owned Ta Kung Pao as analysts and sources told the Post that the clock was ticking, with CK Hutchison Holdings set to finalise the deal to sell its overseas port operations to a consortium led by US firm BlackRock by an April 2 deadline.
The report was the third about Hutchison’s port deal the Beijing offices have reposted in full in the past two weeks, moves seen as an indirect way for the central government to pressure Hong Kong tycoon Li Ka-shing’s company into reconsidering the sale.

In the news story, headlined “Business practices that disregard national interests will ultimately destroy their own foundations”, the reporter suggested that CK Hutchison sold the port operation under US coercion and described the country’s action as “short-sighted” and “fuelling the flames of hegemony”.
The report quoted Hong Kong lawmakers, district councillors, economists and business associations in his article. They called on the companies involved not to be stubborn but to face the United States’ pressure with confidence and to stand on the right side of history.

It said Hong Kong businesses were participants in the nation’s reform and the beneficiaries of the country’s stable development.
“The state is a firm supporter of these enterprises,” the reporter said. “Ignoring or even sacrificing national development interests in business is a short-sighted and self-destructive behaviour for the long-term development of enterprises.”
The reporter said CK Hutchison’s actions had already had a “negative impact on China’s global port layout” and the notion of “business without borders” was “absurd, naive and befuddled”.
He questioned why the company had not consulted the country first and whether it was being coerced, taking a slightly different tack from the first scathing commentary published which had accused Hutchison of an “act of betrayal of all Chinese people”.

This time around, more space was given to heap criticism on the US and the ignorance of companies that did not recognise the geopolitical headwinds they were facing.

“The business mentality of certain Hong Kong enterprises, ignoring the country’s strategy and international circumstances, harms national development plans and creates a significant negative impact on geopolitics,” the latest article said.
