Taiwan and the US will keep salami-slicing through. While the core "independence" thing will still remain intact for China, Taiwan will become more a "country".

More internationally recognised, enter more trade agreements, cut off their Chinese connections, more high-profile diplomatic visits, more military sales etc.

So this salamy-slicing works. They will change their name, ban the PRC flag, and dropping their "China" claims. This is becoming clearer by the day, with US support.

This salami-slicing is not inconsequential, it poses dangers and losses for China if not countered

This person seems to be of the opposite opinion from your prognostications. I am not saying that I agree with all the points this fella is saying but more or less I agree with the main thrust of his arguments made on the video.

I don't know what the reason is for China's demographics, but in the Americas the death of native populations were mostly down to the unfortunate spread of diseases that they had no resistance to. Those that survived often had mixed-race relationships with settlers, which is why many "Caucasian" Americans have some native American ancestory.

As for Europe, most of the natives are still there in one way or another. Unless you want to start asking questions about what happened to pre-Iron Age peoples when the Celts arrived.

If that was the case then half the people on this forum wouldn't be here.

@Deino @Bltizo @siegecrossbow I am reporting this post for genocide denial. Something like this should not be tolerated on a forum like SDF.

You see the difference was that it was a white guy rescuing weak Chinese beings (and shouldering that Massive White Man's Burden on his wide shoulders). A Chinese being a hero and rescuing people goes against the narrative that Chinese are infant-eating monsters who skewer cat meat for lunch and add fake baby powder into their afternoon tea.

We better becareful here. The last time I used that term drew complaints from a non-chinese guy, that led to my post being deleted, and than a month ban. I'm not sure if it's connected. But you can join the dots.

.
The spread of which was deliberately encouraged by invaders. Both directly, e.g. the famous smallpox blankets, and also by destroying their way of living by stealing their lands and livestock. Forcing them to live on smaller and smaller territories that eventually became reservations. Then the actual wars - the Indian wars were devastating for the native population.

"Those that survived often had mixed-race relationships with settlers, which is why many "Caucasian" Americans have some native American ancestory"

The product of the enslavement and rape of the natives.

Guys, I have enough ... there is too much political discussion, posting provoking posts and images seems to be a common practice in the same way like discussing genocide, re-unification of Taiwan and other CLEARLY political threads!

Therefore take this as a final warning: The thread is for "Breaking & World News! III NO DISCUSSION!!" ... political discussions are forbidden anyway.

So either you can stick to the rules or look for another forum if you want to discuss politics.

Markel as always the adult in the room. It really saddens me that she will step down

Although, Merkel's request is a noble one, I cant see why China would agree to that when some EU countries are taking cheap shots against China on this matter.

Dissapointing because getting China to the table could at least influence it a bit on some human rights issues (real ones, not phony)

Hopefully Merkel can succeed, but for me its X for Doubt
