This has nothing to do with my point.
The fact of the matter is that Russia has become kind of a liability to China. Involving Russia in Asia-Pacific only incentivizes the Europeans to increase their presence there and antagonize China, increasing trade with Russia only incentivizes the Europeans to cut their trade relations with China and view it as an enemy, defending Russia's war in Ukraine calls into question China's principled stance against imperialism and its role as a peacemaker. So if anything, China's deepening relations with Russia is the biggest driver of partitioning the world economy and bloc confrontation. This doesn't mean that China should abandon Russia (which would signal China is an unreliable ally), but distancing themselves from Russia (geopolitically but not economically) makes sense and is in China's interests.
This hardly sustainable because this Ukraine is now Russia muslims geopolitical project. separate from it and than you turn everyone against you. this Armenia that talk all the time about Europe has most of trade is now either with Russia or UAE. that Georgia is basically an Arab colony now. Ukraine is in tatters. All three are Christian.
Russia and Arabs control all the trade/air routes between Asia and Europe/Africa and its they who are reshaping this world to make sure Arab financial system and control is at the top. Arabs have alot more influence even in South East Asia and with Japan/Korea.
when you look at Zelenski twitter he hardly mentions Israel the country that has saved him to prolong the conflict or protest this intrusive entry of Arabs about everything related to Ukraine. Zelenski has already landed in UAE and his delegation is in Saudi. when he will say No to Arabs?

The reason China acts peaceful around Taiwan at the moment is because it does not have the military means to have a say 95% chance of victory. If tmr, China received alien tech that nullifies nuclear missiles against it while at the same time shoot death star rays at enemies, do you think this question would still exist?
China does not need "allien tech" to regain Taiwan militarily. just as how the US didn't go to a world war with Russia over Ukraine they certainaly won't go to a world war with China over Taiwan.
if China wants to they can destroy Taiwan easily and level the island. however Taiwanese people are Chinese people and China absolutely does not want to kill it's own people. if China intiates AR then dozens or hundreds of thousands of Taiwanese soldiers/people would be killed and that would be a nightmare scenario for Beijing.

the rejuvination of the Chinese nation is for all the Chinese people, those of Taiwan included. shedding the blood of Taiwanese people is not rejuvination. as long as Taiwan doesn't declare independence, I highly doubt China will attack.

the DPP will not rule Taiwan forever. at some point if the KMT or even the TPP get's the presidency then cross straight relations will be much better than what they are now and there will be no need for China to attack.

Really impressed ngl. Well spoken by Chinese think tanker, (Retired) Senior Colonel in the PLA

He says there could be multiple ways China could contribute in the peace negotiations.

Could be in collective security guarantees to Ukraine (or Russia..).

Participate in peacekeeping operation (station peacekeeping troops I guess) he says that Russia for sure wouldn't accept NATO or European peacekeepers, but global south India or China could be acceptable

Could participate in post-war reconstruction of Ukraine

Finally he answers a question why China builds up it's nuclear arsenal. He says that NATO hasn't sent soldiers to fight Russia in Ukraine, but US is not afraid on not fighting China. Doesn't that mean that US is simply afraid of Russia's nukes and not of China's because of low number of nukes. Very clear answer

Would recommend everyone to watch the entire video

Is the Chinese CPC government legitimate? A thread:
The core question: Is legitimacy procedural (as in the US) or performance-based (China)? The US model says legitimacy comes from process—elections, institutions, laws. The Chinese model says legitimacy comes from delivering prosperity, stability, and "national rejuvenation."

Is Noah Smith trying to tell us that most of his "Chinese friends" are clowns like himself?

Good.

Stephen Roach zigzagged a lot in the past 10 years or so. Early on he got some valuable help from Zhu Rong Ji when he was Morgan Stanley Asia Chairman. But since Xi came to power and particularly during Biden admin, he turned very negative against almost anything Xi admin has been doing. Now I guess he does not like Trump 2.0 and changes his mind again ...
He is aptly named then
