A few days ago I write about Indian AI. Well, the big announcement came today.
They are going hard for "Indic languages" angle. I don't recall Chinese labs using the language excuse.
And speaking of "Indic benchmarking", they've constructed an India-specific benchmark:
How convenient. Why compete on global benchmarks when you claim Indic languages are unique and thus Indian AI needs special treatment? And then you create your own tailor-made benchmarks which nobody else competes on. Total Indian victory?
Honestly, I would like for India to compete with everyone else because more competition raises the floor for everyone but they have got to face the facts about their predicament. And I'm sorry
@siegecrossbow, but I don't really see signs of your earlier comment about how India is somehow "facing reality" when their antics are like this.
I sincerely hope we see more serious efforts out of India than this clownshow.
