(HSI) was up 2% yesterday. S&P 500 opened higher about an hour ago while NVDA is up 2.5% for the moment and FXI is up 2.7%. TCEHY and BYDDY are on fire. These tidbits are telling me:

(1) US/China back and forth on tariffs are signaling prelude to negotiation rather than outright war.

(2) DeepSeek has reset the calculation of valuation models on China equities. There was a significant constraint of AI on China equities due to wide belief in that China is falling behind of US in AI.

(3) Trump 2.0 is a little more nuanced so far, particularly playing first-mover-advantage semi-bluffing. It has worked outright with Mexico and Canada. It is going to be really interesting in China case. I have my coffee and tea ready for this drama of 21st century.

If what is being discussed in the above article. Then TikTok should simply exit NA markets. This could be a scam and China should straight away take a huge loss to avoid participating in what could be a huge scam. Nobody should encourage what is about to happen and avoid being blamed when the truth will inevitably comes to light.

USAID blowing up really shows how many "movements" were just paid shills and glowie ops. To the surprise of no one who actually paid attention.
That's the thing though, most people didn't and probably still don't. That's why these glowops work most of the time.

Goes to show you: no such thing as "independent media". There's always dependency.

A few days ago I write about Indian AI. Well, the big announcement came today.

They are going hard for "Indic languages" angle. I don't recall Chinese labs using the language excuse.

And speaking of "Indic benchmarking", they've constructed an India-specific benchmark:

How convenient. Why compete on global benchmarks when you claim Indic languages are unique and thus Indian AI needs special treatment? And then you create your own tailor-made benchmarks which nobody else competes on. Total Indian victory?

Honestly, I would like for India to compete with everyone else because more competition raises the floor for everyone but they have got to face the facts about their predicament. And I'm sorry @siegecrossbow, but I don't really see signs of your earlier comment about how India is somehow "facing reality" when their antics are like this.

I sincerely hope we see more serious efforts out of India than this clownshow.
