Outside the usual purchases promises. Why would the Chinese invest in US batteries. They aren’t allowed to sell Chinese EVs. They aren’t allowed to manufacture their vehicles there either. Their investments will be robbed when Congress gets paranoid. Is this person hoping that Trump can force China to give up their IP on batteries to Reichsleiter Elon Musk?

Seems to be a Trump tactic to give a harsh punishment and threat to get either get real concessions or act like he got concessions
One usually don't consider one's neighbour deploying combat troops on your border to be a concession, but hey Americans are special.

Stock market tanked and Trump panicked, it's pretty simple.
I did not expect him to capitulate this easily and quickly though, the entire world is watching and he just humiliated himself...

I can't understand why so much fuss for the tariffs, at the end of the day there is no immediate alternatives to Canada, Mexico and China products. People in the US are going to have to pay more whatever they like it or not. There will be a bit of a reduction in consumption due higher prices but you can't tariff necessity so for at least for a couple of years the volume of products from Canada, Mexico and China will stay more or less the same.

Trump pauses Mexico tariffs for one month after agreement on border troops

Lmao, as if the Mexican government could control the cartels and stop the flow of fentanyl and illegal immigrants, literally their biggest businesses. That's not happening. Trump's clownish theatrics.

Let’s be real, it’s more accurate to say the cartels control the politicians in Mexico, not the other way around.

And the Mexican army that’s supposed to "guard" the border under Trump’s plan? That’s the unofficial biggest cartel in Mexico.

This could just be their power move to grab even more socio-political influence inside of Mexico, also taking a bigger cut of the trade for themselves while pretending to crack down. I’d give it a 1% chance of fentanyl or illegal immigration stopping.

Plus, cartels have hundreds of thousands of members operating in sophisticated smuggling networks across rugged terrain.

How is 10,000 soldiers supposed to stop that? The US-Mexico border is 1,954 miles (3,145 km), so that’s only 5 soldiers per mile.

That’s a joke. Unless Trump begs and gets China-level high-tech surveillance, there’s no way they’re securing that border like China has.

If they can’t fix the deep-rooted societal decay that drives people to consume drugs in the first place, then the only real way to secure the border externally is with China-level efficiency and organization.

DPP is all Rainbow Flags and white-arse kissing. It is a bizarre mix of western libtard (they are not just going gay but even importing Indians!) plus white-superiority racist (directed mainly at Chinese people and culture.) Beyond mindless hate of China, the party is full of lawyers and artists with little sense of what is important in the real world in contrast to the KMT.

I like the DPP to keep going. At some point, Taiwan will become so fucked up economically, socially and mentally that you'll finally have sane young people re-visiting their roots.
Helping companies relocate is not libtard
It's just -tard

This makes no sense. Taiwan already has a brain drain issue, so such a policy would simply exacerbate the problem.
This is similar to how I said they should really ban those pointless "civil defense" groups which just exacerbate the low military recruitment problem.

Taiwan is well on it's way. Young people are already moving to mainland in high numbers for years
