Apparently there is going to be a new $500 billion joint venture for AI between OpenAI, Softbank and Oracle called Stargate. They plan to invest $100 billion annually over the next five years. These facilities will likely need around 5GW of electrical capacity.

Yeah, and then leave the majority of people with even higher costs of living thanks to crowding out existing electricity capacity since they are obviously turtle slow in building any new infrastructure needed for anything, including increasing electricity supply to stabilize prices. Besides this and what crazy Musk has been saying about planting flags on Mars and whatever (when they can't even realistically get 'back' on the Moon before China, have their astronauts now constantly trapped in space thanks to the same oligarchization of space economy led by people like Musk), 'AGIs', LLMs, and other Jai Hind-like clownish deranged supapowa bullshit, taking Greenland, etc, things that could be important decades from now while they literally have only a few years as a functioning unified country. They have better raise some emergency funds to repay their highest debt recorded in history to stop the currently ongoing 'debt death spiral' and stuff like this, they don't even realize how broke they are. I think even if they started it would be hard to reverse the collapse/civil war, but maybe they have a 5% chance still if they wake up today. 7 in 10 people think the country is going in the wrong direction, 8 out of 10 are living paycheck to paycheck, and they are split on whether life was better in 1950 than today. The political polarization is so high that we saw what happened now when Biden left the office to so many selfish last-minute orders, the same as Trump coming in and then nullifying the past 4 years of work he did. This country has no direction and cohesion left to build a single new shipyard anymore, not to mention some AGI. They recently started fighting even within the same parties as seen in the migration issues. They can't even do one thing right anymore, no matter the advantages they seemingly might have. So, better to ignore this BS.

so ByteDance got cucked by the ADL and AIPAC money?.
That's an extremely naive way of looking at it, and maybe perhaps the ideal way for Americans look at it, but it's actually beautiful.

- TikTok's power has never been about explicit statements, their power come from suggesting the right videos at the right time from authentic people, people who the viewer partly identifiy with, not preached to, and doing so graduallly a bit at a time, not all at once. Complying with a few keyword blocks doesn't change that, especially since by the time a keyword need to be blocked it's already widely known.

- The act of explicitly censoring popular keywords actually achieve the opposite effect than make people think less, another video that support Luigui is just another video, but a statement that says "the oligarcy does not want you to think about Luigi" hits much different. What you''d do if you actually want to supress something is soft-ban, i.e. supress those videos in the algorithm, and TikTok could have easily done that.

- Last but not least, XHS is widly known now, so is Douyin, the alternative to TikTok has already been established, and it's very much in China's interest to reshape American TikTok in such a way as to push users to fully Chinese platforms, after all why help "TikTo Refugees" return to TikTok? The fact that this can be achieved by malicious compliance to ADL censorship request, and perhaps even making a profit in the process, is simply beautiful.

I watch Carl Zha's videos but not enough to know how frequently he did them. It did seem to be he was doing a lot about TikTok refugees about everyday.

Why has the West been hiding from their own citizen's the level of lifestyle of the Chinese people? Because it's been the number one way how racists measure how they're superior to everyone else. Why do you think the Western news media has so many articles of how China's rich would rather live in the West? China's rich made their money the Chinese way. Why would they want to live in the West where there's rules that prevent them from doing what they did to get rich at home? Now all of the sudden these rich Chinese want to abandon the corrupt way they got rich for a more civilized culture like in the West? Then there's the second part... They want you to desire it but they don't want you have it. That's where how anti-immigrant feels comes in. Look at the hypocrites. They don't want you living in their country but they want you to desire it so they can feel superior by having something you don't. Now you have all these Chinese technology companies doing well beating the West and like clockwork the West is bullshitting their way into saying these Chinese companies want to move to Western countries where they would be more free to do what they want. You mean like free from racism where they won't be targeted for being Chinese. You have a brain drain of Chinese talent from the West because of discrimination and the crazies don't realized the utopia they paint of themselves is a contradiction from the reality that's happening now especially when Shenzhen is where Chinese from US tech companies left the US because of the glass ceiling to have their own startups in China.

About the Chinese guy inviting Americans with health problems to go to China... I've seen YouTube videos of Western expats going to Chinese hospitals but is it that easy where a foreigner can just fly into China and get cheap healthcare like that?

At the end, interesting the Chinese/Western Country music feeling mix going on in Red Note. We'll see if that becomes anything because you don't see that coming out of country music. Maybe you'll be seeing old people doing "lion" dances on the Bund.

The history books state that after 1840, drug abuse was widespread in China. However, it is evident that modern China has been highly successful in controlling drugs. Does anyone know how China managed to successfully address the problem of drug proliferation?
Man, I've got a freshly example of the opposite here.

Moments ago, President Trump announced a full and unconditional pardon for Ross Ulbricht, the founder of the darknet marketplace Silk Road, which facilitated the sale of narcotics and other illegal products and services

Indians just think differently than the Chinese, look at Indians' response to ending the birthright citizenship EO :p

Indeed. I checked out a video of a pretty girl who is very gifted in certain area and went straight through the comments for research purposes. Despite the fact that horny Chinese men weren’t the best at English, the replies were flirty but not creepy in anyway:

“I’m six foot two, has athletic build and graduated from Shandong University with a chemical engineering degree. Please message me if you are interested”.

“My English sucks. Teach.”

(My favorite) “Would love to fly with you angel, but I’m just regular man with no wings”.

Can you imagine what kind of comments she would’ve gotten if XHS were an Indian app?

That's why socialist movement in the west is in such a strange state. Due to history they are unable to embrace the one big actual working example of their theory in action. I frankly think an easy mental gymnastic way out for them has already handed to them on a silver platter: just do the Deng thing and say doesn't matter if it's black cat of white cat, if it can catch mouse it's a good cat and be done with all that historical baggage.
You're talking about a group of people who still hold a grudge over Trotsky getting an icepick present from Stalin almost 100 years ago. I've seen exactly one Trot group that got over this and embraces modern China in years of following "leftist" online spaces.

And to be honest the pragmatic ones on the frontlines actually touching grass have more important, practical, real problems to face than to argue about China. The online fixation over "revisionism" is deeply unserious.

if US alone is controlling them or sole financial power than how come it lost that FIFA bid to tiny Qatar?. Arabs and US are like tag team that kept most of the world afloat post 1945

when Obama got too close to Erdo during Arab spring. that Tokyo olympics was handed over to Japan. Arabs kicked Europeans from Africa and that refugee crises. The point i am making is US effectiveness comes with its alliance with Arabs but often Arabs not advertize things as they have to maintain that Soft Power image.
Forget the gulf arab not
