I actually think that it’s fine if China begins to lift the firewall. The firewall successfully prevented Chinese tech companies from being slaughtered in their infancy and now there is a very robust internet ecosystem in China. Furthermore, the whole Lib view of America being great and amazing can be successfully combatted with the help of Americans themselves. Nothing’s better messaging than directly seeing.
Only true morons fall for the salary in a vacuum shit. Get paid 5x the salary so you can buy shit on Amazon marked up 10-1000x lol. But then again, don’t expect many Usians to be able to be able to read charts and numbers. They act like stats collection is some objective truth done by god. The most they can do is see one number is bigger or smaller than another (see the McDonalds quarter pounder vs 1/3 pounder incident and it looks like illiteracy is getting worse).
On a similar note, saw some people claiming that Usians actually spend only 6.3% of income on food vs 20% for Chinese but the data they cite seems heavily distorted. It relies on some US government sources but they shouldn’t be so off with their own country imo. It claims the US number is roughly 3k food cost /50k total income but that comes out to $9 a day on food which is extremely suspicious even pre food inflation. It also doesn’t count dining out but $9 for at home meals per person suggest people are eating nothing but beans and rice. Seems very off even if they were just measuring the bottom quintile.

Guys, many people on reddit are speculating that Tiktok is gonna be allowed to get sold to a US owner (likely META), or at least be a 50-50 joint venture with a US company under the Trump administration. Is this true???

Also one thing I want to add is that the CCP needs to go harder on propaganda about safety. For the average Chinese it seems natural but the idea of walking around at 2am and feeling safe is a very very foreign idea to the vast majority of urban Americans. All this stuff about food being cheap and QoL when this point is by far the most important one.
