I would love to be a fly in every countries government meeting regarding this reverse xhs breach of the firewall.

Will there be a sign of relieve for developing nations aligned with China, that their people will think twice about being so in love(cough ngo) with the US. Not being interested in China.

I know at least one country where it's panic but what about European government, probably feel even more relegated to the marges.

Also interesting how much of Asian diaspora will act like they always were pro china "I swear it bro". Or how much of Asia will now swear they are 1024 part Chinese instead of Portugese or Spanish.

Pege Hegseth wasn't nominated to actually run the DoD, he was nominated to be the handsome public face of the DoD.

Though to be fair, Tammy Duckworth was overtly intentional in ambushing and embarrassing Hegseth. Otherwise, her question on international agreements wouldn't have been phrased so awkwardly and vaguely.

There's a reasonable chance Hegseth will be confirmed, but doubtful he'll matter much beyond passing messages from Daddy Donnie.

Like him or hate him, Bridge Colby will in all likelihood play a more significant role at the DoD than Hegseth, especially with regard to China.

also noticing the U.S. propaganda department has been on damage control on twitter and TikTok lately, first it was posts about how suspicious it was that TikTok didn’t want to be sold and now astroturfed posts about “try posting lgbt content on XHS” despite the fact that china has its own lgbt culture which is not seperate nor used as a tool of imperialism like the trans and pedo movement of America.

It's rather bizarre that Kevin O'Leary appears so interested in and acts as if he is actually invested in Sino-American relations when he is neither an American or Chinese citizen.

My comparison was between Colby and Hegseth, not Colby and Musk.

To be fair, Musk will certainly leverage his influence over Trump to milk the DoD for contracts, but it's hard to say how much of an impact he'll have on the DoD beyond acquisitions.
