Based on what I've seen, American "Tik-tok refugees" are predominantly dancing young girls in skimpy clothes and effeminate men. Not exactly a revolution material.
You should not trust your eyes ALONE. The most visible and loudspeaking people are often not representitive of the mass, there is always a silent majority. That is MORE true in the social media era. I did not use TikTok before Trump's threat of banning 2 years ago, now I spend more time on TikTok than X, almost abandoned FB. I am sure I am not alone. Our family did not buy anything HW before the ban, now we have HW phones, laptop and watches, we don't brag about it in social media. Now I am a Rednote user too just out of curiosity, I am from Europe, so I am just a new user. How can you tell the silent new users including Americans like me apart from the showy "refugees"? It's not like all TikTokers are skimpy clothed girls, nor are these girls the only ones being rebellious.
Since your are arguing against "revolution", I must say that the most vocal discontent in the buildup of a revolution never sound like revolution, they all start with demand of food, fuel, sallary, then turned to destroying every piece of the system, all revolutions start from the discontent of the mass. Very often the most vocal in the front only do the trigger and quickly replaced by people who have deeper thoughts and well-orgnized agendas, see the French, Russin and Chinese revolutions.
BTW, I don't think this TikTok is going to start a revolution yet, but saying that it is one of many early snow balls sliding down the slop which eventually will lead to an avalanche.
