His wealth is largely tied to Tesla shares and Tesla's market value is entirely based on assumption FSD will be achieved anytime soon - something this diabolical oligarch has spent lying about for the past decade. Greatest snake oil salesman of our times!

But it was most likely wise to remove all the excess bureaucracy. Nearly every president in China worked on this platform as well. The question is, did he accidentally remove important functions of the economy at the same time? Looking the spiking poverty rate and depression, I'd say yes.

When China undertook their SOE reforms in 90s they had massive growth occurring at the same time to offset these losses.

Once you destroy your human capital like how Argentina is doing right now there is no coming back.

Look at those cuts, they are beyond rational - it's ideological in nature. A few years from now there won't be a discussion on Argentina it would turn out to be a total wreck.

Russia has already accused Ukraine of being the perpetrator of the terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall in Moscow earlier this year and Putin has really done nothing to escalate against the Kiev regime.

The Russians only show restraint in this war, they really want to avoid a full-scale war with the West.

Thus, Kiev is free to continue to have a normal life with routine visits from European and American officials, while at the same time being able to inflict these attacks and PR stunts to make Putin look like a weak and cowardly leader.

Ukrainian leaders are paid by the US and EU to do this, so they will just continue as they are profiting and not suffering anything in retaliation. Only the common Ukrainian people are left impoverished, left without energy and then sent to the meat grinder on the front lines.
If that is the actual thinking of NATO, then that is a simply awful short sighted idea.

Lives willing to fight for your ideology are some of the best currency you can have. When NATO doesn't stop Putin from emptying Ukraine from those, not only does it leave Ukrainian people impoverished and without energy. It leaves them without faith for the west that originally gave them those promises.

Ukraine has Banderites because the USSR (initially) failed to deliver their promises to properly back them up during WW2. If NATO today plays as being USSR 2.0 and simply let the Russian consume Ukraine, the result will be a new tribe of pro-Russian state ideology fanatics on the border of EU.

Of course Putin doesn't care if he "appears weak and cowardly" if he gets all that subject territory with hearts and minds. He'd make press conferences in clown makeup for it if he needed to.

Trading land, ideology and lives for PR that is forgotten on a weekly basis might be one of the worst trade deals ever.

I don't think NATO is so stupid, in reality, they were just caught off guard by the Ukraine war and also remain wary of committing because they already face huge issues with China.

So the starving of the state was actually a good economic policy enacted by the Libertarian Milei? what's your actual take on this @luminary
I was a little tounge-in-cheek: there's absolutely nothing good from purposefully destroying your human capital like @didklmyself said. That's the basis from which everything else comes from. Musk and the US oligarchs are celebrating another country which they can now exploit.

President Javier Milei may not have burnt down the country’s central bank or dollarised Argentina’s economy, as he repeatedly promised he would do on the campaign trail. Nor did he get rid of taxes; in fact they went up sharply. But he has kept his word on one of his main pledges by unleashing the figurative motosierra (chainsaw) on government spending. And support for his government is

Elon Musk the tech billionaire had already been in contact with Argentina’s Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation (and former central bank governor), Federico Sturzenegger, with a view to carrying out measures similar to those applied in Argentina.

The government has also proposed creating a security agency to implement AI-driven “pre-crime”, which is about as far removed as government policy can possibly get from the basic principles of liberalism or libertarianism.
Unsurprisingly, they are making what was merely a hole now a chasm:
the government and central bank have been able to muster enough dollars to keep themselves going this year through three main measures: a one-off ‘blanqueo de capitales’ (assets amnesty for capital repatriation), which allowed Argentineans to launder cash from accounts abroad, property, cryptocurrencies and other assets,

of a large chunk of Argentina’s gold reserves, which has been conveniently forgotten in recent months; and a high-risk financial manoeuvre called the “financial bicycle,” which encourages traders to engage in high-risk carry trades and is costing the government a fortune.
The financial bicycle has so far set the government back an estimated $100 billion.
And the current economy is sustained only by a massive jump in agricultural exports after multiple years of bad harvests. I don't have to tell you what will happen if they have another bad harvest next year.

I hope you're right, but today the thought that emerges is that NATO is a safe place to stay where no country dares to attack. While Russia and Russia's allied countries can be attacked multiple times with impunity. Therefore, Ukraine's accession to NATO becomes a popular objective.

NATO's way of acting is that of a mafia. Create the problems to sell the solution. This should not prevail.

Also, the SpaceX Starship is looking pretty sketchy for a manned mission in 2027. It looks like what a 6 year old kid would sketch for a rocket. They better be careful that thing isn't a death trap for whoever lands on the moon in it.
