The Democratic Party claims that Chungam High School graduates like President Yoon are occupying key military positions related to martial law. However, only 4 out of 400 generals graduated from Chungam High School. This is not the first time the Democratic Party has made a martial law joke. In 2017, President Moon Jae-in ordered a special investigation into the military's 'martial law review document', which assumed the worst case scenario of a complete collapse of national order in the event of former President Park Geun-hye's impeachment, as an illegal act related to national security. 37 prosecutors were deployed to investigate about 200 people for 104 days, but all were acquitted. It was an unreasonable commotion to begin with.
Some Democratic Party lawmakers spread the Yun administration's martial law scenario on YouTube after a movie about the December 12 coup became a hit late last year. During the general election, the slogan was “Secure the martial law cordon.” The Democratic Party and its leader Lee Jae-myung are well aware that the 'martial law' claim is unrealistic. However, the reason they spread conspiracy theories that go beyond common sense is because they believe they have nothing to lose because their supporters like them. There may also be an intention to create a situation for the impeachment of the president ahead of Representative Lee's upcoming ruling. The Democratic Party has spread and used ghost stories about mad cow disease, the Cheonan, the Sewol, THAAD, and Fukushima for political purposes. None of these ghost stories are true. The Democratic Party probably knows this too. Knowingly insisting on ghost stories is ultimately because people are considered idiots.
