I doubt a non-military guy has control over the military and neither his own political party backs him. The guy dropped a desperate political nuclear bomb to in an attempt to save his political career.
It looks like we have arrived at the final stage where elections become the enemy of western democracy
But I thought there's no corruption in Democracy because of muh transparency and openness?
Now it remains to be seen whether the ROK military listens to President Yoon or the ROK National Assembly.
If the martial law in South Korea can be lifted by the National Assembly and the ROK military pulls back, Yoon's impeachment is only a matter of time.
Otherwise, the PLA NTC and CTC better be ready to respond in case things go south in the peninsula (e.g. Yoon starts to hatch some funny ideas about its northern neighbor to solidify his rule, or that factions within the ROK military factions clash due to differing loyalties).
Might be a good time for some PLAN warships and PLAAF warplanes to conduct maneuvers in and over the Bohai and Yellow Seas.

I just suggested to @TomShughart that perhaps the KPA and PLA need to move in to restore order and democracy. After all, can't have a US-backed military dictatorship in the region, can we?
Looks like the ROK military eventually listens to the National Assembly and not Yoon. He's cooked.
Yoon basically committed suicide in the most public way possible lol.
That's just flat out embarrassing.
And people say south Korea is supposed to be the more modern civilized one.
Maybe when it's all said and done, North Korea really will be the one to win. Kim Jong Un really will be living what nork history books say about him as a hero.
All those memes mocking him are gonna age badly.
