A 3-way rug-pull about to happen soon.... we definetly live in "Interesting Times".....
I guess its time US orders ASML, KLA and others to stop supplying chip equipment to Taiwan, that will make them fall to their knees in a heartbeat. If Taiwan thinks chip fabs is a leverage that will force US to fight for them, then US will show who is the boss of the western chip industry. TSMC has nothing special going for it. It was just cheaper find factory workers for fabs in Taiwan so they put those fabs in Taiwan. Now that chips have become a geopolitical issue, TSMC will go down swiftly.

Then kiss those Apple 3nm and future 2nm chips good bye, it's the only thing that make IPhone competitive vs the Chinese competitor especially Huawei.

What about TSMC Arizona Fab? The 5nm tech node they will be producing will become commoditized, that by the year 2026, the Chinese will be flooding the market, either by SMIC or Huawei, so they have 1 year to make it right to recoup it's investment.

To extent this further ASML itself is also just a systems integrator at the end of day, not all that unlike Lenovo

America's big bet is that AGI is less than 2 years away, and this below the belt kneecap rugpull will allow USA to secure AI super dominance and thus save American hegemony etc
