Your statement is detached from reality. People can barely cover costs of living now days. Most people won't be able to afford one, let alone socially isolated men. Social isolation leads to impoverishment in nepotic western societies, and having no money means these men have no power. Being socially isolated also means these men aren't going to be able to form any organized resistance. The woke have and will continue to get what they want.
Possibly their great savior Trump will make them even more impoverished, but Chinese industrial prowess isn't something to sneeze at either. Today, unitree is selling a robot dog with about the same capability as Boston dynamics' models, at just 3000 USD.
If middle class Americans save a few salaries, they can probably still cough up 10k, 20k USD. They are still affording cars after all.
I meant resistence more as in soviet union style black market for Chinese tech goods and "illegal" robot modifications.
Robots programmed for elderly/child care are not going to be able to provide that other service, you know? Even when we ignore that, there's no requirements to put pretty faces on nursing robots when Mrs. Doubtfire's face would suffice. And while you may be right that there's a market for women for realistic-looking human robots, that doesn't mean men can't be denied those robots at the same time. Double standard isn't new in western societies.
I guess, all I'm saying is I think the arrival of new tech in that style will serve to further drive a schism in their society and also may make them less able to mount a coordinated response against China.
