The recent heartbreaking news of tragedy that happened in Valencia, Spain where severe rainfall created flash floods killing 95 people so far in its wake reminded me of the similar tragedy that happened in Zhengzhou, China.

Valencia, Spain

Zhengzhou, China

Poland mention flood in raising budget deficit to $60b in 2024. so i guess its through out Europe. Czech also mention flood in budget deficit.

Bloomberg trying to cope about US- China's technological race. They start by saying that US's tech containment of China is still working, but....
What's interesting is that Bloomberg is admitting that "Made in China 2025" is working, and despite all the roadblocks by the US, China is catching up fast. According to them, China is also now firmly the #2 in the world in terms of software development.

The reason why they hate Xi so much, within 12 years of his administration he had achieved great things, plus special mention to our special agent Trump and Brandon, without them it may take longer.

Dude entire families are getting killed. And you support that because it might be good for China? literally how fucking dumb are you? China doesn't need senseless killing to win against the US. You definitely would have supported crimes of imperial japan because "it weakened China" if you were born in japan
Did Chinese kill Arabs? Blame Israel. As long as Chinese are not supporting genocide, there nothing more you could ask. Any aid is bonus, and it is done because there are benefits.

So no, your Japan example do not work, not unless PLA is killing Arabs to weaken US.

A better example would be WWII US pro-Japan fighting in China to weaken it, and support China to inflict attrition to Japan. The longer they fight but not win, the better. Why interrupt Japan when they are making a mistake?

For 99% of people, a job is a job. Even if you have the privilege of working for a prestigious name like JP Morgan or Microsoft, perhaps you'll have driven individuals who want to rise to the top. For the rest its literally, finish projects on time, get your compensation and stock options, leave me alone, and all that "more than just a job" crap that HR peddles always ends up in the junk mail part of your brain. In the US, the rare instance where an employee would actually believe in the company's mission and money not being the main motivation would be working for something bleeding edge like say, Open AI.

For China, thanks to US sanctions, not just a single company but an entire segment of its workforce is of the mindset that what they're doing actually matters. Nowadays telling your friends that you work for Apple or even Tencent is just like, "eh good for you, I bet its good money." Not too often can you tell someone, "Yes, I do indeed work for a sector that's currently being strangled by a superpower and me and all my colleagues are of the same heart and mind trying to breakthrough for the future of our nation."

That's really the crux of why US tech sanctions were such a shot in the arm of China's tech sector, simply put it made thousands of Chinese actually love their jobs.

"Outdated and Outmaneuvered: The West’s Stubborn Blind Spots"
By Amir Husain
"They overestimated the effect of sanctions — against China, Russia, Iran — which instead accelerated a rapid shift away from Western-controlled systems that took a century to establish. They assumed that a few congratulatory speeches and renaming the Asia-Pacific the “Indo-Pacific” would inspire India to act as a volunteer coast guard in the Pacific and confront China on their behalf — that didn’t happen. They failed to recognize that India is far too independent to ever let that happen. They imagined that tech sanctions would destroy Huawei and block other nations from using Chinese technology, but the opposite occurred. Chinese chips became more advanced, and Huawei emerged stronger. Now American auto company CEOs are worried what will happen if Chinese cars ever make it to the U.S. They used to argue for free trade, now they argue for bans. They never fail in one department, however. The department in charge of being wrong."
