He was and more hilariously he even secretly begged for a job with the islamophobic Daily Mail, LOL. When it was reported, his moslem followers freaked out and so he denied it. Then the Daily Mail released all the emails and he was exposed as a total sham and a pathological liar. After that fiasco, he fled to America and rebranded as a progressive.

It's just a rank opportunist who will side with any position that is profitable and convenient for his career. Even his turn against Israel mostly follows where the progressive base is going.
