China really needs to start reassessing it's strategy here. Money isn't given for free.

Pakistan is a counter to India but if the money is going into a blackhole, maybe China should put it somewhere else. There isn't enough urgency from Pakistan here.
China keeps trying because an oil passage through Pakistan from middle east saves China alot of money and prevents a risk from oil tanker getting attacked in the pacific and south china sea. Moreover, a strong Pakistan is a threat to India, which keeps India pre-occupied and saves China the resources and headache in its southern border and allows china to focus on more important zones of military use such as Taiwan strait and south china sea.

This is why China keeps committing on Pakistan even though from the looks of it. It's a completely one sided relationship in favour of Pakistan.

The main reason is India. Nothing more.

Turkey has one of the most powerful militaries on the planet and Turks historically have been good fighters

I know a lot of people don't like Erdogan, rightfully so due to him playing double game.

But think about it, West needs Turkey more than Turkey needs west, it's geopolitical position makes it one of the most important NATO members alongside being the 2nd strongest military after US in NATO.

If I were Erdogan, I would too, keep my country in NATO so that I can use west as leverage to get what I want. Since the west needs me more, I can make some ambitious demands.

At the same time, I won't trust the west too considering all the reasons you already know.

However, his position on Uighurs was his biggest mistake

Opinion On political endorsement

The Washington Post will not be making an endorsement of a presidential candidate in this election. Nor in any future presidential election. We are returning to our roots of not endorsing

Okay? It's not like Americans distrust mainstream media...

This is why the $1.6 billion in disinformation on China is largely going to waste, because the reality doesn't match what they are saying, and they know media is trash to begin with.

Gwadar already is connected via highway to the rest of the country. The whole railroad works in Pakistan which are part of CPEC are delayed. That is well known. As for the electric grid connections, Gwadar is so far from the rest of the country, that they decided to make a power plant there instead. The whole thing is delayed. Since it wasn't initially funded it required a new line of credit.

I think part of the problem is that Pakistan wanted to use local companies to build the railway expansion. It got stuck into endless bureaucracy and never went anywhere. The industry in Pakistan is probably too underdeveloped for such a major project. At the same time, China uses a different railway gauge than Pakistan. So it is not like you can just directly import something without major changes.

Just the fact that Pakistan today has much more electric generation should have increased productivity due to less days with blackouts.

The highway and power plant projects seem to be getting built just fine. They even built a nuclear power plant. It is already delivering power to the grid in Pakistan.

Yea but look at WaPo's endorsement history and its editorial stance. WaPo not endorsing Kamala is really saying something.

My prediction

They know that nobody believe the mainstream media except when it comes to China bullshit but everything else they are seen as untrustworthy as an used car salesman, if they endorse Kamala they may very well endorse Trump.
