Seems like Trudeau wants a meeting with the big boss at G20, maybe he'll learn to be respectful this time.

Brazil's Lula cancels BRICS trip after minor brain hemorrhage from fall

BRASILIA, Oct 20 (Reuters) - Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Sunday canceled his trip to Russia for the BRICS summit, following medical advice to temporarily avoid long-haul flights after a head injury at home that caused a minor brain hemorrhage.
In a statement, the presidential office said Lula, 78, will now participate in the BRICS meeting via videoconference. He was initially scheduled to depart at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Lula's doctor, Roberto Kalil, said in an interview with GloboNews TV channel that the president suffered a fall that caused "great" trauma to the back of his head, requiring stitches for the injury and resulting in a "small brain hemorrhage" in the temporal-frontal region.
"It's a condition that will require repeat tests throughout the week. Any brain hemorrhage, theoretically, can worsen in the following days, so observation is important," he said.

Kalil added that Lula is doing well and can engage in normal activities.

Wtf is this? I thought India would be the only one backstabbing BRICS at this meeting, didn't know Brazil is also involved.

It appears that Moldovans have voted against adding EU membership plans to their constitution. Opposition presidential candidate has also performed much better than polls have predicted which means that current pro-West president Maia Sandu will have to square off against him in the run off vote.

If Moldovans and Georgians end up rejecting EU/West in their respective elections, that would be a pretty huge W for Russia.

Update:

From Wiki:

Alexandr Stoianoglo - candidate of Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova, Ideology: Democratic socialism (self-described), Socialism, Social conservatism, Moldovenism, Russophilia, Euroscepticism
Renato Usatîi - candidate of Our Party (Moldova), Ideology: Populism, Russophilia ,Social conservatism, Soft Euroscepticism
Irina Vlah - independent candidate. "In her announcement speech she criticized closer ties between Moldova and NATO and increased defense spending and stated Moldova must be "neutral." She has also stated that it necessary to "maintain ties with the CIS countries, for the benefit of our businesses and compatriots".
Victoria Sturm - independent candidate, doesn't have a Wiki page, but certain articles refer to her as a proxy of Ilan Shor

Things are not looking good for the pro-West camp.
Update: Diaspora votes which were counted last have actually tipped the balance in favour of pro-EU faction. With 98.42% processed votes, pro-EU stands at 50.08% and anti-EU at 49.92%. Diaspora has overwhelmingly voted for EU with 75.95% and right know it looks like it will decide Moldova's geopolitical future.

I knew it was too good to be true ... West has worked its magic again.

Maia Sandu has also considerably increased her lead and is currently standing at 42% which means there will be second round with results likely close as the referendum results.

I keep telling you people BRICS is a joke. Too many "Third Worldist" copers on social media like Pepe Escobar has successfully brainwashed millions. Reality is a different story.
BRICS became too hot when people started this nonsense of trying to make it into some anti-west coalition and included Iran. I knew this would happen. I am for BRICS expansion but it has to be done in such a way as to not be seen as some anti western group and include more liberal democracies. The manner of its expansion makes it an easy target for powerful countries to paint it as against them and then pull all stops to contain it.

The truth is the only way this these sort of groups are gonna work is unironically when they become centralized and someone is there to make sure everyone acts in line. Otherwise its all infighting which makes it very easy to divide and conquer.

Its very ironic but despite spouting democracy, the western collective works because ultimately USA is the one in charge. They have the final say despite all the yapping. Imagine yellowstone or whatever blew up and USA disappears overnight. Suddenly the "west" and all is related entities seem so much weaker now.

I recall someone mentioned that democracy is basically for rudimentary societies that are the same level as farming villages where you just vote the leader in and call it a day. As soon as you move one step up and start running a country or hell soon an empire where the scope and stakes are far higher, you need to have a more centralized version of control. Very ironically, France which claims to love democracy and freedom became so powerful in the first place because they centralized much faster than their peers. Kings like Louis XIV would do everything to make sure he had the final say and those nobles or feudal lords had to listen.

Have you noticed the China-ASEAN pact seeming to make so much more progress? Thats coz ASEAN countries know China is the guy in charge and as long as he can make reasonable decisions, they are happy to go along with it.

Thats why I'm in favour of China forming some smaller No-Indias club where China can deal with other countries and bypass India which brings little value but a huge liability to the discussion. This is not a new concept. Leaders have always created new channels that can bypass the middleman who might have ulterior motives to see what is really happening on the ground. The ironic thing is India despite constantly saying how its a democracy, really wants to do this. After all that is the way of the Brahmins. The idea they have to let some dalit have the same voting and speaking rights in a group is unthinkable. The problem is when it tries to do this in the west and realizes that in the eyes of those guys, it is the dalit.
