I have a feeling it might be related to portion sizes as well. Chinese restaurants tend to have decent size dishes amidst the shrinkflation, inflation, and greedflation mess. Why bother getting a shitty fast food meal that is also shrinking at the same meal price of a local restaurant.

Typical western portions these days, it’s not rare that when you go to a western restaurant that you would have to spend double the price for a steak and mash and anyone with some cooking ability could cook for a quarter of the price. Honestly is this a joke nowadays. Even in a typical Chinese restaurant, for half the price of a steak and mash, you could easily get a soup noodle bowl that can more then fill you up which probably explains why I see so many westerners in my area go to the Asian food courts nowadays, it’s literally packed when I get there and honestly enough, it taste so much better

Biggest one off the top of my head is a Chinese runaway in 5G. I named that because it's not my field and it's literally the only one that comes to mind. I have doubts on your every claim due to your history of being consistently proven wrong so go ahead and cite where exactly the US leads China in ICT and I'll check if it's true and what areas China responds in.

That is why I believe that poster is a one person disinformation machine targeted at this particular forum.

The ICT stands for information communications technology, I had look it up again because I remember the I and the T and forgot what the C stood for, which I thought it would stand for that.

But ... this misses the point entirely.

The point is the real world, and we should not forget that this ICT which ever way defined, is just a means to an end.

The word here is platforms. Not ICT.

That is the big thing with the internet the past 15 years, the rise of the platforms.

There are only two countries with platforms that complete globally mainly, although there probably are other platforms that I never heard of or used. How this ICT is defined, is merely a means to an end.

So why bring it up? 15 years ago, China was probably behind the Americans in ICT, but so what? Did not stop the rise of Chinese platforms. Today, not sure who is ahead or behind in ICT. But that does not matter.

What matters is the platform. And today, China will integrate their platforms with the domestic manufacturing supply chains, all connected to the 5G network, allowing more automation in logistics, pushing more efficiencies and progress in these systems going forward.

This is not something the Americans are doing. Amazon probably still has over 60% of its good for sale made in China. And no 5G for their network.

Case in point, the liao lin trade, you know, the durian fruit. That is a $4 billion dollar industry now in ASEAN because they selling all of that into China, via the platform like JD.com, then the sales are the internet orders, then the logistics with the use of AI to make sure everything runs smoothly.

That is the world today in China! And its business partners!

Is China really behind the Americans in whatever this ICT is?

Maybe, but so what? You know what I mean.

Why even bring it up? Likely a disinformation attempt.

:D

MAGAs should investigate Taiwan for election interference. If they find something it will be proof of Chinese interference in U.S. election.
"Oh no China has been found guilty of election interference! We will punish them by banning US travel to 62 year old CPC boomer Da Hao whose job includes measuring genshin impact character thighs and has never travelled overseas, or even touched grass, in the last 4 decades of his life."

"China has now been appropriately punished and we will continue seething over election interference!!! Watch out China or next time we will ban another geriatric from skiing in the Appalachias!"

The end part where where the Electric Viking says Ford can't admit to reality to the public because Ford's stock value will crash is an example of the US overall. Who says the US can't lie about how well the US is really doing? Some people only have those lies to claim the US is in command.

The US will never be able to make equivalent EV to China's because they can't add all the features Chinese EVs have without it costing more than a Chinese EV. That's why I have to laugh every time the West thinks they have found an alternative this or that from China. Yeah it'll still cost you more. There's only two ways the West can beat China. Enslave a country to have them do everything for the West for free or they have to let China rise and have their economy do better than theirs so that they become the cheap source of labor around the world. Neither they can't do hence why the West is in deep doo-doo.
There’s a reason why The Wizard of Oz is such a seminal American book. The theme of “pay no attention to the man behind the curtain“ is the very essence of American power: myth making, smoke and mirrors. The myth that only Anglo Americans have that special genetic code, the genotype for innovation, when in reality they simply steal from others as Snowden’s PRISM and Tailored Access Operations attests.

China is not a “peer-level competitor” to the US in any aspect and will not be for at least another 1-2 decades (even assuming China sustains the same growth trajectory as the Tigers did). After all, Taiwan and Hong Kong, which are notionally parts of China are U.S.-China irritants.
I’ll just leave it to Brookings for the NAICS list

Anyone wants to see what a real debt trap looks like? Here is an example.

The evident collusion between Pakistani elites and the west does worry me when it comes to CPEC and overall BRI, not to mention the role they may play if it comes down to a Sino U.S. war. Too many of Pakistan‘s elites have homes and children in the west.

china tightens the noose around Japan. The useful thing about the U.S. setting Japan up to be its prime spear carrier and bullet fodder in Asia besides the Philippines is that conquest of Japan and the induction of the Japanese archipelago would make a fine landmark to cement chinas rise. And the decline of the Anglo Americans.
