What cover up?

Merkel straight up said there is difference on how the EU and US will deal with China.

She basically told the US to stop knocking on EU's door to help the US keep their hegemony.
The only "help" the EU will give to the US is for "human rights" meaningless sanctions

@voyager1 What can you expect after threatening sanction on German company over the Nord Stream pipeline. A cluster fxxk US foreign policy I ever see one.

Germany is very smart on the Nord Stream pipeline. Exluding all the obvious economic benefits for Germany, this deal also geopolitically tries to stop-reverse/slow down Russia's turn to the East from the West

An axis of Russia-China in the continental Asia(Central Asia even extending to the Middle East) would be absolutely terrifying for the fractured EU. The synergies between Russia and China are so huge that noone wants these countries to get closer, even Japan tries to keep some ties with Russia for this exact reason.

However as we have seen from the EU's ambush towards Russia with the Navalny situation, Russia is going full steam ahead on turning to the East and now disregarding the EU.

The best, Germany can hope for is to keep the pipeline alive so that at least Germany can have some influence on Russia

Your uncle Bob raving about Bitcoin gets eyerolls while Elon Musk doing so gets people’s attention.

Jai Hind actions were ridiculous because they didn’t realise how trash and irrelevant their spending power is. It’s like a cat moewing and expecting to be intimidating.

OTOH, how many industries and companies can afford to go without the Chinese market?

@voyager1 or become a third bloc, having Russian gas directly from this pipeline is an assurance instead of being blackmailed by the US and Ukraine. And I pity the Ukrainian, they have no more leverage to use against Germany and Russia , they know it and may become desperate and start a war in Donbass.

It's a shame merkel is most likely out, she was the only strong EU nation leader I have seen lately. Macron tried but he is more arrogant then that he is talentful diplomatically seen. And he had his hands full with yellow vest protest even before covid.

I expect the EU to go with the US the Atlantic block is too big.

Very interested in knowing the details and more importantly how will the investment flow into Iran? US would most likely sanction any Chinese entity involved.
