The West is a private club.
Only the members are allowed into the club, and they can do what they want inside that club of theirs.
Japan and South Korea are not members of that club, although they get invited from time to time to attend something inside the club, but that is as far as the club would go. Taiwan is not a part of that club. Neither is Russia or Ukraine.
