It looks sharing same chassis as PLZ07B amphibious 122 SPH not really ZBD05
Now that I am looking at the PLZ07B, the ZBD05, the ZBD97 and the GSL132, it appears the GSL132 has design elements from the both the PLZ07B, and the ZBD05.
The hull layout while resembles the PLZ07B (which owes it's design to the ZBD97 more than the ZBD05) but the GSL132 is not as tall (I think the GSL07B is tall for the buoyancy displacement requirement) and the inlets for the hydro jet are positioned in the same location as the ZBD05. The unique requirements of the GSL132 drove the hull structure, and internal layout, while utilizing components in the NORINCO system.
I did note that the roadwheel placement with the pronounce gap between the 5th and 6th roadwheel is more like the ZBD05 while the PLZ07B has evenly spaced roadwheels.
Just my thought, but to get the buoyancy right, it appears that NORINCO has to place the engine in the rear to offset the weight of the track width mine clearing plow (or blade). The US Army one weighs

So I am going to keep with the position that NORINCO used the ZBD05 as the base when the engineered the GSL132. I could be totally wrong as nothing is really definitively written on the GSL132 design/development, unlike the ZBD05 development.
