The reaction of all the LCS critics ( including myself ) on recent news
Truly one of the biggest procurement f ups of modern times. Some years ago I read that Zumwalt/LCS were supposed to be the USN analogues of B2/F22 and the whole thing was about inter-service rivalry. Don't know how true that is but it seems plausible in hindsight.
A lot of daydreaming while designing these ships. We got one Freedom class stuck all winter in Quebec because of ice... and these are supposed to be deployed on the Atlantic. So forget all the North Atlantic at this rate... Mediterranean and African coast only?
Would have been better to scrap them when all the problems started to emerge. Like in the first 2 years but they stick into it to please politic supports and create jobs probably.
