They have yet do but Independence in aluminium are more vulnerable better Freedom class with much more steel, Sheffield in aluminium ...Well The Navy did all that Shock testing on the LCS, I don't think There is much damage you could do.

LOL but Dec 9, 2016Well The Navy did all that Shock testing on the LCS, I don't think There is much damage you could do.
this is just to tell you it's not only Senator McCain (and me

anymore:
“Maybe LCS should stand for ‘Leaking, Cracked Ship,'” snarked Rep. Jackie Speier both on — using the hashtag #PorkShip — and in person at the hearing. “I and my colleagues want to know why Congress should waste $120 billion on .”
(LOL )
the quote comes from a very interesting article
Indeed I kinda jumped the gun on the navy admitting anything but it does look things are a turning towards a full fledged multipurpose frigate capable of defendinoops
well 'dtulsa' indeed contacted me on Facebook, but he intended to post an article which was newer than the info already available from

and OF COURSE the USN has NOT "admitted" anything, as you can see inside
Navy Considering More Hulls for Frigate Competition, Expanding Anti-Air Capability
"... the Navy remains firmly committed to execution of the current LCS program of record ..."
I'm going to update this post with that RET's findings once they become available (presumably in the first half of this year) ... until then, I have nothing more to say (I think I "pounded" LCSs enough already
oops

Indeed I misspoke kinda jumped the gun in assuming they navy would admit to anything personally I don't care as long as it leads to a useful multiple frigate that's capable of defending itself and taking the right to the enemy which the current version is severely lackingoops

here:The following is a U.S. Navy video of USS Detroit (LCS-7) firing its 57 mm gun in a series of tests that sank an inbound surface target and destroyed an unmanned aerial vehicle on March 6 and 7, 2017.
I have been looking at this mock up real close and indeed it does have room for 2 Helios if one is inside the hanger and the other being tethered to the outside deck it can also be assume that one bird would be airborne frequently especially in wartime or crisis situations what do you all thinkIndependence class LCS has a top speed of 44 Knots, almost as fast as the old Pegasus class Hydrofoils 48 knots. With these upgrades I imaging a weight penalty which may explain the fantail. Removing weight to keep a high speed.
I think daydreaming about "revolutionary transformational" should stop, and a SecNav should be appointed who then might be able to influence the USN which, to my total surprise, has been trying to keep LCSs unarmed! I mean I would understand IF the USN had been "battling" the Congress etc. to get funds for "armed to teeth" ships and IF Congress etc. had been saying it was excessive armament, BUT apparently it was the OPPOSITE what was going on:... what do you all think
while the USN needs Warships, not Littoral Combat Ships... I think
...
- it was actually the US Navy which had to be "pushed" to prepare alternatives to LCS in 2014 (so called Hagel's memo):
but- I think the USN then actually tried to change LCSs as LITTLE as possible, under the circumstances:
- and I think this "backfired" on the USN in the end of 2015:
Also I'm finding it a little strange the only model we have seen is Austels Humm think some thing maybe up thereI think daydreaming about "revolutionary transformational" should stop, and a SecNav should be appointed who then might be able to influence the USN which, to my total surprise, has been trying to keep LCSs unarmed! By the the LCS inst a warship the way it's currently constructed or armed for if it was it would be I'm the Persian Gulf on patrolAlso I'm finding it a little strange the only model we have seen is Austels Humm think some thing maybe up there
Like it better than Austels especially torpedo tubes and missile location seems more traditional to meView attachment 37918
