I thought India has a 'professional' military superior to the 'single-child conscripted' military of the PLA? Then how could so many Indian soldiers be under severe stress? If Indian Army had this and that advantages vs the PLA and PA, shouldn't Indian soldiers be at ease, confident, and highly motivated?
Some of the major organisational causes of stress among Army officers have been identified as inadequacies in the quality of leadership, overburdened commitments, inadequate resources, frequent dislocations, lack of fairness and transparency in postings and promotions, insufficient accommodation and non-grant of leaves.
The main organisational stressors, as perceived by JCOs/ORs, were delay and denial of leaves, excessive engagement, humiliation by seniors, lack of dignity, zero error syndrome, unreasonable restrictions on the use of mobile phones, poor quality of ration and cooked food, besides lack of recreational facilities and conflict with seniors as well as subordinates.
Man, sounds like the many problems of the Indian Army that we have been talking about over and over again. Life for the Jawans is quite literally tough on the body, mind, and spirit.
But wait, if according to Indian media. Isn't this supposed make men out of boys? Isn't this is one of the 'advantages' of the Jawans over their 'pampered single-child' PLA counterparts? So everything is going to plan then?
