This incident happened in 2007, when the ROEs were against engagement to avoid civil war at all cost. (The article clearly mentions that the government was trying to "preserve peace.") But once War was launched by Pakistan against the TTP, after the school attack, the Army was unleashed and this is what followed:

Soldier stands on empty road lined with destroyed buildings in Miranshah

You see where that soldier is standing? That picture was posted by the BBC. That's the former 'no man's land' in Waziristan, the former epicenter of the TTP... it was basically erased from the map.

What is this "strategy" exactly? To lose 1000km^2 of your claimed land? Amazing "strategy" dude. Well done.

I don't know about IA's strategy but Kakyan's seems to be bringing holiday cheer to this forum.

It's not even 100 sq km as India has not sent a single soldier to that 900 sq km of area in Depsang in 15 years.

Also Galwan valley has been completely cleared by both sides as per latest sat images. So no intrusion or land lost there either

You sir are quite the masochist. Don’t worry and be careful of what you wish for. If the 3 minute version shows Indian soldiers crying for mommy, are you going to ask for the 8 minute version?
The 3 minute version shows the opposite which is why PLA won't dare to release it.

LOLOL Yeah, ok and the hour long video shows the opposite of that. Prove such a video exists by posting it. There is only evidence of a 20 second video so far.

The 40 year old video shows India's economy is garbage, technology is garbage, COVID response is garbage, governmental capability is garbage, and military capability is garbage. You don't have the honor to be compared to China. You think this is a fight? LOLOL China doesn't even take you seriously; it's using this as a light opportunity to train troops, test prefab living quarters, drones, exoskeletons and stuff, basically just marching around watching you blow yourselves up with your own equipment. If China ever took you seriously, it'd beat your border within a garden fence away from New Delhi instantly. (But then it might have trouble going further because apparently 250 million Indian civilians are protesting and blocking all traffic near the capital...) Go home; compare yourself to Somalia or something.

So if the Indians won such a big victory you guys must have a recording of it too, right? After all you guys posted a video of a Chinese communications officer being beaten by five other Indian soldiers as a great victory? What’s preventing you guys from releasing YOUR video?

@Kakyan logic: If I get beaten up on Tuesday instead of Friday, I didn’t get a beating at all.

Also @Kakyan logic: if someone recorded me getting beaten up for 3 minutes but only released the high lights, that means I’ve actually been beating him up for the unreleased video portions.
Lets hypothetically play this out.

We see the Indians running off the hill in disarray at the end of that 20 second clip.

So according to Kakyan, those guys are supposed to regroup, restock and charge back up the hill in the remaining run time or less than 3 minutes?

How? Is that operationally feasible?

The average time to plan a hasty assault is more than 20 minutes, just using the basic 8 step process:

  1. Receive the Mission.
  2. Issue a Warning Order.
  3. Make a Tentative Plan.
  4. Initiate Movement.
  5. Conduct Reconnaissance.
  6. Complete the Plan.
  7. Issue the Order.
  8. Supervise, Inspect and Refine.

Unless you want to get your ass kicked back down the hill again, those guys will need to get shields, rehydrate, catch up on their oxygenation, and rehearse. You will need to rehearse your engagement plan, your casevac plan, your alternate assault position and your primary fall back position, as well as some kind of succession of command (who take over when the CDR take a rock to the face), since clearly it was not hashed out the first time.

You can't even brief a plan and conduct a proper back brief in 3 minutes, much less an successful assault against what is now established defensive position on the high ground.

No, I can give you another 30 minutes, and it won't reverse the results.

BTW, I've noticed a propensity for Indians to "Fuck it, we'll do it live", winging it attitude when it comes to military ops. For example, had they conducted a proper recon or any type of contingency plan, that shit show on the June evening would not have led to 20 deaths.

Bunch of fuck ups, and that includes their officers.
