ANI is a state owned mouthpiece of Indian Gov/Army. They were in full force vomiting unsubstantiated claims regarding 26-27 Feb incident.
They are less credible than Global Times or RT or VOA.
Still its only plausible that India "occupied" a hilltop near Thakung. I think it's going to be east of Thakung.

It is still in the Indian side(perception) of LAC (as claimed by the string of tweets). China too claims that region so technically it could only be seen as a half-assed job (this is my opinion and that is biased indeed).

Note :

There are some opinions/rumors that no firing has taken place and merely physical skirmish happened. Lots of troop movements and base propping however.

Not that relevant to the thread but ANI (Asian News International) isn't Infact state owned. It however acts like one.

Wanted to clear that one up.

Rumors abound of atleast 6 Indian soldiers killed during clashes.
But these rumors, as far as I've seen, are propagated by mainly Pakistani Twitter Handles. So there's that.

Atleast one death snuggled in between , about a Thappa, is in news and is reported as being not related to Combat (accident) .

Sometimes I wonder how many of the suicides/accidents in IA are actually just that.

Let's be real - no one cares about the life of a soldier. It doesn't matter if a country is developed or not, A soldier is merely a living weapon and tool.
I don't think numbers of casualties really does matter in any modern conflict. Civilians too bore the brunt.

What matters is everlasting and tangible gains - Territory.
POW captured also matters as they can strike a nerve.

Again, no one cares about the dead. No one.

This is truly an escalation since India is right now ruled by Right wing nationalists who put a heavy emphasis on religion (Hindu).

Personally,I am on the fence regarding this.
