Jian's vs F-22/F-35??

I just find the idea nuking China in responce to losing a carrier or a GPS sattaliet..... well it seems like poor sportsmanship, kinda like being a sore loser if anything.

Is there any info on the J-13/14?

Don't mistake a game for real life. Games are designed to be balance so no side has a definate advantage.

J-11 has no chance in BVR fight. It may never even know the F-22 is there. F-35, though is not as stealthy as the F-22, is very stealthy from the front.

In a dogfight, the F-22 still has the advantage with its higher roll rate, thrust vectoring, high thrust to weight ratio, and the AIM-9X. That is not factoring USAF's pilots greater training.

Is the Novator KS-172 AAM-L air to air missile manuverable enough to take down a F-22/F-35? It was developed to shoot down AWACS, martine partrol aircraft, tanker, etc.. If it is then China should get the missile from Russia. Some su-27 and su-35 in the CIS and Russia already have this missile. It has a speed of mach 4 and range of 400km.

Speed and manueverability does not help you in shooting down the F-22. To shoot it down, you must first detect it in radar, then track it, then pass the data to your radar illuminators. Since the F-22 is a stealth aircraft, detecting it at a range further than "right overhead" would be a very very huge problem. Tracking is harder still.

I suppose EternalVigil has never heard of the word "nuclear deterence"... then again, he probably never went beyond highschool.

The F-35 joint strike fighter sometimes carriers its weapons (or always I dont know, I belive its the marine version) on its wings, Theres, RCS. Thats were you can take out the F-35. The F-22 has a better chance of serviving since it carriers all its weapons in its bays.

Dude, I gotta say that was kind of uncalled for... I don't think anybody here hasn't heard of MAD.

I would add a few more opinions regarding nukes but then again we want to stay away from the "nuking each other" topics...

Speaking of the 5th Generation US fighters (namely JSF, F-22) I'd say the biggest swing factor in a conflict would be the ability to detect them. As long as the stealth factor can be somewhat negated by improved detection capabilities, the US advantage (in an air war) would be considerably limited.

And of course since China doesn't have any capable carriers yet any possible scenario would probably be near Chinese territory, giving them an advantage in Ground radar, SAMs, resources...

It's all hard to say. Head to head I'd probably lean towards the F-22/F-35 winning a straight out fight, but in any modern war there are many factors in deciding victory, such as datalinking, SAMs, range constraints...

Also, I've heard that with mircowaves the Iraqi's were able to detect the general location of B-2 bombers and shot them down with FLAK what are's the PLA's capabilities as thus?

no B-2s were downed in combat. It is true that low frequency waves can detect stealth platforms, but that's it, detect. As you increase your frequency, you decrease the return, so it's questionable, at the very least, that the Iraqis were even able to acquire a firing solution.
