Re: JH-7/JH-7A Thread

14th Division has a unit with J-11.

yeah, it was my bad. I posted that thing this morning when I wasn't awake, I totally missed out on the fact that the third picture was showing a PL-5 and LGBs and that the guy actually mentionned it was taken from a plaaf regiment in Nanjing MR.

Could be the same guys at Hangzhou. Both the 28th and the 14th Division are with Nanjing MR. Maybe exercising together.

In any case, there is only a short list of attack divisions that may get a JH-7A next. The 5th (Jinan MR), 11th, and 22nd both in Shenyang MR.

Re: JH-7/JH-7A Thread

Claimed by the guy that posted this that this is from a regiment that used to be equipping Q-5. And then someone guessed this to be from Yantai, Shandong province. I looked orbat, if that's accurate, then this would have to be one of the 3 Q-5 regiments in the 5th division (13 to 15th regiment)

Neat. Certainly does not look like the base in Hangzhou. Since there is no markings on the engine intake, this has to be PLAAF Feibao. I guess this is the closest proof so far that JH-7As may have equipped PLAAF 5th Division.

Considering the lower cost of JH-7As compared to Su-30s, it may be a good idea for the PLAAF to field larger number of Wild Weasel configured JH-7s for SEAD operations to free up more Su-30s for heavy deep strike operations.

yeah, JH-7A is the main SEAD platform. It's actually better in that role in my opinion than su-30s.
