Re: JH-7/JH-7A Thread

It comes from the video above you. At first i was very inclined to say it's a wind-tunnel model of the initial project, not JH-7B, but looking closer there's an air-breathing missile under the wing, and i'm not sure if i see one or two ventral fins, plus the antennas behind the cockpit appears same as on JH-7A. IF this is indeed JH-7B, supposedly the IFR probe is retractable then?

What is the air-breathing missile? I swear i've seen something similar before , but can't recall where and in what context now ...

PS: Found it... isn't that the initial YJ-12 project, or is it a different missile altogether? ( If it's the initial YJ-12 then doubt that model shows JH-7B, but you never know)

Re: JH-7/JH-7A Thread

around either late 05' or 06, report that PLAN plan to instal AESA for JH-7.could AESA equip JH-7 a B variant?
judging from the picture,I do not see any change at all, likely internal change such as up grade avionic.closes analogy was F-4E to Super Phantom such as now retire luftwafe APG-65 equip F-4E.
I speculate the radar if it AESA likely derivative of J-10B radar system.

However, there are no unit-badge carried during the ferry to Russia.

So these badges were painted in Russia.
