Is there a quick and dirty way to tell block 3 apart from other blocks other than tail serial?

Just a quick glance. No sure if the nose cone color difference is standardised or not.
Block 3 also has forward facing MAWS sensors near the intakes.
Before, Block 2 and Block 1s used to have dark radomes. Now Block 2s and 1s seem to sporting white radomes while only Block 3s have dark radomes. This might be parade specific schemes, so I am not sure if it's standardized.

Yeah, the block 3 uses a wide-angle hud. However I don't think it's the same as what the J-20 uses. If anything, the J-20 hud seems to have a thicker "edge" surrounding the hud, which itself is narrower than what's on the thunder. The takeaway is in terms of hud tech, the JF-17 block 3 likely uses newer tech than the J-20 in service.
I found images of J-20 and thunder block 3's HUDs below for some comparison.
Has anyone noticed that the fuel tank pylons are different between Block 2 and 3? Possibly just an updated pylon design which is compatible with previous blocks too. Also, the drag chute door profile on block 3 also seems less pointier compared to previous blocks.Some images from a rehearsal flight.
