So this is the draft budget submitted to the National Congress of Argentina. This doesn't mean that a contract has been officially signed but it is a clear signal that Argentina has selected JF-17.

In absence of any news about engine, my assumption would be RD-93.

The reasons are two-fold: first, why bother? second, Russians would love to supply Argentinians because both are anti-British.

Do we know what arms package Argentina is getting with its JF17s? From what I've seen it looks like PL10E only as AAM, which is a bit of a waste of an AESA radar. Not seen anything on ASM.

so looks like credible news that Block III is going to Argentina

I wonder if London will put some pressure on Islamabad for such a deal ?

I mean 4 x Typhoons on QRA from Falklands are way too far to engage

but then Block III armaments can be deadly mix of long range missiles

this is big news but a long way from being signed

personally the Max. Pakistan should offer is the Block II

Block III is not even inducted into the PAF yet

I expect 12 units of JF17A Block III to be handed over by the end of 2021 to the PAF

No way. At a minimum they will be exported with PL-12. BVR is a major prerequisite for the tender.

Apparently argentinians are dismissive of the news saying that multiple previous requests for funding for other fighters have gone nowhere. We should approach it with caution until it is actually confirmed

If real this is indeed a major news: long expected and often shown on patches and models, but never before seen on a real aircraft or confirmed, this appears to be a JF-17 Block 3 prototype carrying dual racks with two AAMs each (looks like the older PL-12 due to their longer rear-fins)
