JF-17/FC-1 Fighter Aircraft thread

Western hypocrisy...

The Brits are paranoid about Argentina. I guess the memories of HMS Sheffield are still vivid. If China actually came close to selling them JF-17s I'm sure some sort of backdoor agreement would be made with the Chinese government.

It happened with Americans, the French, even the Russians. Their local rival Brazil make an aircraft locally (I forget which one) and even that was somehow blocked.

British lobbying has been very successful - Argentina probably has the worst air force in the world right now.
Other than the ejection seats on Pakistani JF-17, British has no say whatever. Chinese made ejection seats will be installed if Argentina decides to buy JF-17. China can ensure not a single piece of nut and bolt from the West will be fitted.

British supports for Hongkong rioters, and its sending of aircraft carrier to seas South and East of China next month, Brirish politicians' anti-China stands, BBC fake news etc etc will make China more than happy to sell JF-17 to Argentina.

The only thing that can stop this deal is their finance. But they are very desperate for fighter jet replacement as their only remaining four to six flyable A-4 strike jets are practically toothless. And A-4 are not even a real air to air fighter jet.

I don't know if you are serious or trolling. The vid automatically jumps to the right segment. It's embedded in its url.

You are literally repeating the same mistakes over and over again. It really reflects badly on you being an international mod. Especially as you are also a 'pro' writer on certain defense matters.

Calm down and I must admit if I wouldn't be involved on my own you would have received a strict warning for that behaviour!

No, I'm not trolling, it started from the beginning when I watched it first and since I saw no timestamp not any hint what you were referring to other but a psed image added below the video to "prove" I kindly asked for help.

The fact that you immediately picked this up mixed with the indeed stupid mistake at the PDF to spin something like "not worthy to act as a moderator" shows nothing but your bias.

And now shut up or face the consequences, I have enough.

relax dude, sometimes people instinctively start the video from the beginning even when its set to start from a timestamp. That's why it's best to type the timestamp if you're citing something.
It's embedded in the url. There is no need to 'instinctively' start the vid from the beginning. When one clicks on the video it automatically begins from the timestamp. So chill.

Like I've stated, it is not an incident but something chronic.

oh come on,
Deino asked his question in quite a polite manner, but you answered in a rude way, unnecessarily I would say.

Why aggressive?

He is certainly a (as you said) 'pro' writer on defense matters

He has often be cited by military news websites, and he has even written a book, which believe it or not, I have seen it cited in at least a dozen major military-related think tanks

If he is not a 'pro' then frankly, I dont know even what we "normal" people are doing here lol

Calm down and no need for personal attacks. Mistakes happen and nobody is an all-knowing person

Next time I recommend to write down the timestamp (which you should have done at the 1st place)

Anyways, but on topic. The JF17 was designed as modular where the end customer can choose what they want. If Nigeria wants a Turkish pod and gets it, that’s a bigger selling point for the plane rather than a negative.

Pakistan prefer Martin Baker seats most likely because the rest of their fleet uses MB seats, so it makes perfect sense from a logistical and costs POV, but Chinese seats should be just as good if not better since they would have had taken the best from European and Russian ejection seats for their own domestic designs, and Russian ejection seats are very good, probably better than MB seats.

There is literally nothing the British can do to stop a JF17 sale if both China and Argentina wants to press ahead.

Something else to consider is that Argentina doesn’t actually need to achieve air superiority to win the Falklands.

A JF17 might struggle against a Typhoon, but the Argentines will have to be stupid to use their JF17s like that. All they need to do is do a mass launch of fighters and spam stand off missiles at the single airfield on the island. Doesn’t matter if the Typhoons based on the island scrambled or not, the only difference would be if they were destroyed on the ground or forced to ditch once they ran out of fuel.

If the British wants to send their carrier over, that might be a much bigger problem, but the Argentine Air Force can just spam AShMs at stand off ranges and hope to get lucky with minimal risk to the JF17. As long as China keeps delivering missiles, it’s a battle of attribution that will massively favour the attacker since the British Darlings don’t have a huge missile inventory and need to go a long way to rearm once those missiles are spent. Even if they can achieve 100% missile intercept rates, the carrier strike group would be forced to withdraw before long as its escorts run dry on missiles.

If China really wants to screw with the British, they would potentially offer the Argentines periodic location updates on the RN task ground whenever one of their recon satellites passes over.

I don't want to go further on this and risk angering more members.
