Probably, based on avionics alone. The JF-17 probably has a pulse doppler radar and the last RWR/ECM suites. And IRST is said to be in the works.

Yes of course. Greater payload, more manouverable, capability to fire PGM and BVR either already or in advanced trials. And more can be added depending on the customer's request, while J-7 was fairly limited in that regard simply due to its size.

I didn't noticed there were two JF-17 thread.
Since JF-17 was better than J-7, why won't China replace its J-7 fleet to JF-17? Because I think its quite awkward to sell a weapon that your own country does not even uses it. That would be difficult. At least even with China just operate somewhere like 100 planes.. That would be a good number.

Anyway, it could be because JF-17s are still too expensive and offer too much capability to replace J-7s the way the PLAAF wants to.
I don't think it's really awkward -- the US F-20 tigershark was made purely for the export market (though it was cancelled later).
