talk about China will buy 100 RD-93 engine from Russia.

I was also impressed by the wealth and quality of photos coming out of this year's Zuhai Air Show. Made my eyes water. Some really beautiful shots there.

Looks like it was photographed during a rehearsal, nice blue sky. It's a shame the weather was not good this year.

Basically says that JF-17s will only use Chinese weapons and radar/avionics systems. Looking at all of the AGMs, AShM and PGMs they've displayed in Zhuhai airshow, I'm really not surprised by this. It seems like China has progressed a lot in missile technology even in the past 2 years.

It also makes mention of Pakistan buying up to 4 SAM. I'm not really sure what is on the wish list, although I'd think HQ-9, QW series, FL-3000N and some of the hybrid truck mounted launch CIWS are all up there.

Ahhh yes, this reminds me of a few years ago when a lot of Pakistanis (of course not all though) were insisting that only the initial batch would be completely Chinese and subsequent batches would be chock-full of Western avionics and weapons systems

Look like people mark JF-17 as "Made-in-Pakistan". I read a comment from sina.com that the JF-17 flown by Pakistan pilot did better maneuverability than the J-10. It does not mean J-10s are inferior but the pilots are too conservative.

There was input form Pakistan but is major part of Chinese engineers, production facilities etc. Whether it is more agile... Hardly to judge by standing on the ground. I am still amazed how J10 pulled up... But I must admit that JF17 display is also gooood. All related to engine power, weight and aerodynamics... And surely the display routine. I think selling J10 is not a big problem. At this moment it is a big point to sell JF17 as medium tech plane while having not much cash. If you have more cash and need a better plane... Go for J10. Certainly the J10B has a lot more to offer and we have not seen everything yet. But we can conclude that PAF is making a good marketing on China. China and Pakistan are a very good team. In every aspect.

A few years ago the Chinese just started with avionics. It maybe tells you that China offers better and better and maybe even the best. Certainly the price, quality, reliability to deliver is a selling point. If Pakistan opts for Chinese products then there is more then this or that. If you go for e.q. French parts then start testing and even then you can do not much then pay big price like 15 million per aircraft. No TOT and chance that opponent gets the same. So, before making fun of posters maybe there something behind the developments.

I go thru some poster of pakistan who is so sure of next 50 batch JF-17 using western avionics becos they think Chinese produce sub standard avionics compare to western.

I am wondering who is making fun of who in the first place? Being ungrateful and calling counterpart producing sub standard avionics. You shall be thankful of any help Chinese provided.

I read so often that JF17 was a paper plane or just an upgraded f7. Posters say a lot but few know the facts and can predict.

I did not make fun. And PAF ex-ACM said a few years ago that some avionics needed improvements but were catching up nicely. Don't call me a beggar without understand facts. The Chinese need and needed Pakistan for information and they have the manpower and cash to make anything happen. I have seen a regional superpower telling that but not able to deliver results. Maybe Pakistan played its game a lot better.
