For what it is worth ...
I had a friend who died a while back, and since there were no more parents, no siblings, no children, he had no next of kin.
He want me to take care of things afterwards, and of course I agreed, and was made executor of the estate. Whatever assets or accounts that were left, I had to take off, and all those other details involving such matters.
One detail was his Facebook page.
I emailed Facebook, saying he died. Facebook emailed me back and said they wanted proof. I took a picture of the death certificate and emailed it to them. About an hour or two later, they closed the account, it was permanently frozen, no one can post anymore onto it. Facebook put up a banner that said, "In Remembrance of ..."
I did not realize they would act that fast, because I wanted to at least post the relevant details such as dates of birth and death. But it was frozen. I emailed them back saying I wanted to post that information, as many of his friends did not know how ill he was, that the terminal disease was going to get him, and soon. Facebook emailed me back almost immediately, saying once an account is locked up like that under these circumstances, of death, then it would required some lawyers to unlock it. That was that, that was it for that.
My friend had quite a few friends, but near the end, those last few months, he told no one, as he knew they probably won't show up. There is something about death, that makes people run away or avoid it. Perhaps they feel unlucky? Perhaps they are scared?
Guess I am really old fashioned. I was determined to do the moral thing, as the ancient beliefs that virtue shall be paid back, some time, sooner or later, in some way.
Anyways, back to the subject of this thread. It depends who is still around the subject. If anyone knows anything or has some information, it does not take much to inform social media. Personally speaking, I do not know who this guy is. This post is to relate what I had to do, and maybe it can move things here in this situation.
